to the Fall River licensing boards meeting today it is Wednesday May 17th 5 p.m I'm going to open up with the open meeting law pursuant to the open meeting law any person may make an audio a video recording of this public meeting or may transmit the meeting through any media attendees are therefore advised that such recordings or Transmissions are being made whether perceived or unperceived by those present and not

deemed acknowledged and permissible the city Charter section 9-18 mandates that all multiple member bodies develop and adopt rules or policy for public comment we have adopted such a policy which ensure provides for citizen citizens input on licensing board specific matters at the beginning of the meeting there is a sign up sheet that is located at the back of the room I just want to recognize uh

fellow commissioner uh former retired police officer Michael Pereira and myself Tim McCoy we do have one absentee tonight commissioner kadiro so moving on uh item number one on the agenda is public input does anybody have any yeah any comments or statements on any matters that are on the agenda tonight seeing nobody coming forward we'll move on to item two on the agenda specifically to a

Battle of the gates gates of Fall River Michael Herron apps uh application for one day uh all alcohol license event date uh scheduled for July 8th 2023 with a rain date of October 19th Mike could you give name and address and if you want to talk about the event sure welcome to sure maybe if both of you at least could give your name and address okay for the record Michael Herron 453 Stafford Road

Souza uh 17 Michael Street Fall River Mass what are we doing do you want to talk about it briefly no I mean I think that we've had we had a pretty intense meeting with with all of all the department heads fire Emergency Services uh Mr Ash was there uh you know I mean I think you guys got the floor plan which is subject we have we're having another meeting logistically on site

so whatever's plugged in there for the most part the mayor recommended that we made that we made one or two changes to that fault to that that tentative floor plan which which we agreed to and then Peter I'm assuming you're helping with the serving in the bedroom now from what I understand my I find out I found out today I believe we're on the agenda next week with the with the state

the license as well no uh what happens I went up there okay and there's some transition because the new governor of New appointees which is so uh but there's another meeting up there there is another meeting okay but but the good thing about that is okay was I was able to contact a licensed Matchmaker I didn't know that was my responsibility I thought they would have a list of them

and assign them to you sure so that's why they table that for that so I was able to finally show My Name by Patrick Sullivan who was the Matchmaker for the most recent event in Ludlow this weekend one of my partners in this event regiment training their final one the heavyweight championship up there today so he was he was the Matchmaker for that event he does a lot of the matchmaking for the Birchfield

events with CES so we talked to him today and uh uh he's on board and we're going to get together uh tomorrow to not all the guys who cross all the t's perfect yeah uh the chair will entertained well I I had met two out of the free burdens but not the matchmaking uh component because I assumed that regiment will be matchmakers you know I wasn't told that way I could provide the

Matchmaker that was upon me at the meeting and when I mentioned regiment they didn't have a record of regiment on their file as matchmakers and they didn't really have any commit knowledge of who they were which I found incredulous because they set four fighters to UFC in the last three years we all know they'll go again in metropoliser and uh Matthews and the rest of them uh but uh you know working

through it they were they were very supportive of of me and they and because they had the resume and they wrote three of them board members were actually at the battleship event that I did last summer and I think that you know spoke volumes to them so yeah retain entertain emotion pending the yeah yep before I do that to Almighty so you're pretty confident that you'll get full approval

yeah absolutely sure yeah I mean I wouldn't you think that'll happen uh July 14th so our promotional package is going to say which we're going to release tentatively scheduled for July 8th pending Mass State athletic commission approval okay but we've been in constant contact with their executive secretary their compliance offices because I have there's a huge investment for me yeah so it took along

first so you know it's so how about we I had uh I talked to Mr maciano uh Iraqi Marciano's brother today multiple times the capuello gym has volunteered to be matchmaking foreign matchmakers most matchmakers do both they do the grappling because I I one I was told they want to make sure people are fighting with appropriate levels of experience appropriate records right and all of that and I think that those the

same type of math there and logic applies to MMA well as you know Mike from your background in wrestling you don't want to point a guy who's in his first fight with a guy who's not 14.

so we certainly want to support this you do a good job with this so I'll make a motion to improve the one day permit for the battles of the gates gates of the city for my Karen um um pending your final pending and once that's once that's approved then you get back to us okay absolutely it'll be it'll be uh passed for um for July 8th 2023 and when a rain date of

um so it's one day this is a rain date if we don't have the rain day we we have to have the rain date to protect ourselves right yeah but if if we don't get the rain then that will include though potentially another show I I I'm a 19. but we'll uh does that have to come back it would have to come back yeah for the August yeah yeah and and like as

as Mike knows I mean he was you know the best wrestling coaching history driven High School when people are cutting weight yeah you have to give them sufficient time so we want to originally the ring that was booked for the night after okay but we got clued in from the gyms from Brian and Dylan page and those guys that Mike it's against them off and getting these guys to cut weight like after the date

north side of the building that's facing a wall to the front of the building so it's looking oh the wind looking over the patio Through the Windows just thinking much aesthetically more pleasing and conducive for the environment that we're trying to make down there and then the venue bar which is much too big for that venue haul so we're going to cut that down and move it to a more centralized location a much

smaller bar not with any seats just for service yep and so our folks at at home are can be at least a little bit more educated on the location of the property I believe this is the site of the old Water Street Grille originally was the Water Street Cafe the most Boondocks and then it was most recently the boneheads location 36 uh Water Street and then also uh will house

um trying to think it's 3656 but the restaurant will be the 36 side 56 sides of rental properties got it and um uh I just lost my train of thought excuse me I'm assuming you've secured all sorts of building permits necessary yes construction uh requirements and tournaments and things like that we're still in the demolition process right now but I didn't go forward with any of the with anything until this okay so

once I permission to move uh we'll we'll demo the the one in the venue and then we're just gonna relocate and kind of Jack it up and just slide it slide it over to the other side of the room so I try to salvage it as much as we can very good the chair won't entertain a motion so I'll make a motion to approve the pledge of license for Primo Hospitality Solutions no we're not at

the property in late March uh they borrowed money from two different clients of mine one was Fall River five one was jobs for Fall River both loan approvals required a pledge of the liquor license as part of the collateral pool for the loan and so I've submitted a package with I think all the appropriate enclosures and seeking a pledge of the license to Fall River five to secure a 750 000 promissory note and

a pledge of the license to jobs for Fall River to secure a four hundred thousand dollar promissory note attorney celino thank you so I think it would be wise obviously for us to have two different motions two different pledges for the two different entities the uh the bank listed and jobs for Fall River okay so my first motion will be to approve the pledge of license um for the Fall River Five Cent Savings
