thank you mary quick and simple uh the residents attended the massachusetts public housing conference in marlborough this past weekend they get they got some good information from ben stone at dhcd and the folks at chapa but the highlight of the meeting was david was elected the vice chairman of massarina public housing tenants that's it thank you thank you item two on the agenda is the minutes of

the regular meeting held on april 11 20 22. do i have a motion to approve those minutes motion approved any questions or concerns hearing none all in favor

item three is bills and communications the vouchers are included in your packet the recommended action is to accept do i have a motion to accept the vouches motion to accept second any questions regarding them hearing then all in favor the next item is the management reports the management reports are included in your packet are the applications the occupancy reports the tenant accounts receivable

the work order report five is the monthly section eight voucher activity report six is the monthly personnel report seven is the director of modernization's monthly report and eight is the bank investment and bond dent balance report recommended action is to accept do i have a motion to accept the reports as presented second any questions with regard to any of these reports as presented

hearing no questions all in favor item five um this is the financial reports a a and b are both being withdrawn as they are not completed as of today and they will be presented to us at the june meeting item c is the quarterly operating report for the quarter ended 3 31 22 that is in your packet the recommended action is to approve the report as presented do i have a motion to approve the report

a motion to approve second any questions um amber is here this evening that she can answer for us no questions all in favor aye aye item six is the update from the interim executive director thank you madam chairwoman a few things the follower of a housing authority has uh continued as we have in the past to support the greater fall river recreation um we made a financial two financial donations

in the amount of sixty six hundred dollars and that goes to support the local uh musicians union for our senior concerts we have two series of concerts one in the spring at 11 sites and then again in the summer uh in combination with aqua goats for the elderly sites so we've been doing that for quite a few years now and continue to do it again this year so i wanted to update you on that

secondly i've been meeting with some representatives from south coast hospitals and they're looking to do some wellness clinics and additional vaccine clinics at these concerts that we have they used to have a large van they got rid of that and they have two small vin minivans now a group of nurses will come and do blood pressure cholesterol and then vaccine if need be so that's a nice service that they're offering

uh we started um breakfast and served joey de silva has coordinated that again at all our elderly high-rise and elderly sites the police breakfast open up dialogue with our residents any safety concerns resident concerns they can bounce it off the police department make the police department aware of anything that may be going on so they can provide a greater presence at any particular site

the vehicle and vaccine policies that i provided to you last month the union is still reviewing those policies so we're hoping to have that for you next month so you can vote on there taking a little bit longer than i expected but we don't want to rush them along it has also come to the my attention and management's attention we've been having some issues at duelin apartments as you know

doolin is a mixed population elderly and young or disabled and a couple of times last month the police were dispatched out there for some some incidences that were going on um so myself attorney souza uh debit management we've been addressing that and working with the four river police department for a greater presence and try to resolve some of those issues so that's ongoing but it came to our attention and we want

to be proactive with that and the last thing i have is contract negotiations that's been ongoing um we're starting to hone in on on more details on and items that's what's important to the union and what's important uh to us uh as the authority so we should be narrowing down uh in the next couple of meetings and then at that point i'll have something to present present to you an executive session

and that's what i have for this month excellent thank you okay you're welcome thank you next is new business item one is modernization a is a contract award for tree removal and building repairs at chair bishop joseph e apartments the recommended action is to award the contract to the low bidder paul nunes and sons incorporated in the amount of forty seven thousand nine hundred and fifty dollars including alternates

contingent upon the final approval of dhcd do i have a motion to award the contract i'll make a motion to award the contract second any questions with regard to this contract is that the same company that cuts the grass

any other questions all in favor all right item b is a contract award for neural wireless fire alarm communications at raymond d holmes apartment father vincent defario village james a o'brien senior apartments frank b aloe vera apartments nicholas w mitchell heights bates tower apartments and ed edward f doolin apartments the recommended action is to award the contract to normal services company incorporated in the

amount of twenty two thousand seven hundred and eighty five dollars under the sole source procurement process do i have a motion to award this contract motion to award second any questions yes could i just ask a question is this any different than what's at the other buildings uh this is recommendation of the of the forum fire department so that we go wireless this will be the end of all of our buildings

that will be tied in wireless oh okay this is this is for a watch only to be called into the fire department okay without having to be online for a format okay thank you

item c is a contract award for the new gazebo at oak village this was rebid the recommended action is to award the contract to the low bidder gill dash den in the amount of 71 700 i'm sorry 71 hundred and ninety five dollars do i have a motion to award this contract emotional award the contract second any questions or concerns with regard to this contract hearing none all in favor

item two is the miscellaneous section item two a is the on-call glass fabrication and repair contract for heritage heights the recommended action is to award a six-month contract to the loan bidder door and glass innovations in the amount not to exceed 25 000.

meeting last wednesday uh may 4th at 10 a.m here uh commissioner bentley commissioner madirus myself mr burke and um william walker and kerry farias were all present we went through 47 applicants we appointed commissioner madirus as the chairman of the committee so that uh we had the sense of order for the open meeting law um and basically we went through 47 applications we narrowed them down we

now the field now to approximately 17 of that 17 there were 12 that were scored i think we are going to i don't think um we we closed out that meeting at 12 noon um with the intent to reconvene and we already advertised that it'll be it will be um this upcoming tuesday no i'm sorry on a wednesday at 10 am here for the second meeting we plan on going through the

aptma the rest of the applications and then um picking out some individuals of interest uh they have the the members of the committee have any interest in asking them questions we can do that and the ultimate goal is to send a finalist to the board at the next board of commissioners meeting so one finalist candidate should be presented where the board can interview that person in open session uh

so that the public can see that thank you commissioner madirus i didn't know if you wanted to add anything i didn't mean to i wasn't going to spring this all on you to have at the last minute no no you've done a fine job okay covered all the bases okay

that was the last item on the irregular agenda the next item is executive session um it's the former it's a for discussion on the former executive director's contract exploration update it's anticipated that the executive session pursuant to mastermind law chapter 30 a section 21 a2 to conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with non-union personnel at the executive session is necessary um at
