Good morning. First and foremost, I'd like to thank uh Vic Ferris for setting this up. Uh this is a tradition that we've started here to honor uh Detective Richard Mcan that was killed in the line of duty August 11th in 2000 during the uh forever celebrates festival. We're honored to have Lieutenant Man and Officer Mcan, his sons in attendance here today. Uh appreciate everyone's attendance as well that came here to
0:22support this uh during uh National Police Week and uh yesterday being National uh Peace Officers Memorial Day.
0:29I'm gonna have Father Rob come up and say a few words in a prayer. Uh without further ado, Father
0:41Rob, as we come to an end of National Police Week, we know that we pause during this week to remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
0:51So, let us now take a moment of private prayer for all of those police officers and law enforcement who have been killed in the line of duty. In a special way here, we remember those who gave their lives in line of duty in Fall River. Detective Richard Mcan, August 11th, 2000. Officer Thomas Ja, August 24th, 1994.
1:20Officer John Rogerio, July 23rd, 1973. Officer Armed Def July 1st, 1925. Officer Jeremiah McDonald, September 27th, 1918. Officer Lewis Gormley, August 23rd, 1898.
1:45Constable Gideon Manchester, July 16th, 1852. Let us never forget their sacrifice. May they rest in peace eternal. Now, I'd like to just offer the police officer's prayer or a police officer's prayer. Oh almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embraces the universe, watch over all police and law enforcement officers. protect them from harm and the performance of their
2:12duty to stop crime and violence as they serve our community. We pray help them keep our streets and homes safe day and night. We commend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous as they put the needs and cares of others before their own. Grant them your understanding, strength, and courage in their daily work. Protect these brave men and women.
