2 18 2026 Licensing Board

Uh meeting of the forever license board uh Wednesday, February 18, 2026 uh at 5:00 pm will come to order. To my right is Michael Pereira, commissioner.

Melanie Cado, commissioner, and I'm Gregory Brilliant. I am the chairman. Um pursuant to the open meeting law, any person may make a audio or video recording of this public meeting and may transmit the meeting through any media.

Attendees are therefore advised that such recordings or transmissions are being made whether perceived or unproceived by those present and are deemed acknowledged and permissible. The city charter section 9-18 mandates that all pu multiple member bodies develop and adopt rules or policy for public comment. Uh we have adopted such a policy which in short provides for citizens input at license and board

specific matters at the beginning of the meeting. There is a signup sheet that is located in the back of the room.

As part of public input, I'm going to start by saying I believe this is Miss A. Ash's last meeting here.

And she's been a uh pillar to this this board uh both when I was at that table and now that I'm over here. So, I did want to recognize here for all her for all her contributions to the licensing board and licensing board matters here in the uh in the city of For. She's going to be very very uh gravely missed and uh we wish her luck, but I did want

to um acknowledge the fact of all the good things she's done for this board.

Okay, we will get started. We don't have public input, so we're going to get started with agenda item two, which is one day permits. We'll start with A, which is St. Anthony the Desert's Church, 300 Nor Eastern Avenue. Uh follow James Root. Uh we're looking for oneday permit for the dates 52326 8726 8826 8926 102426.

The 523 is our the ladies guild always has a um wine tasting.

Okay. So obviously you know the rules and regulations on how these all work and we've never had a problem there and we don't anticipate any problems.

You would have to ask me that. Um the wine tasting is from 6 until 10:00.

The festival Friday evening is 5 until 11. I'm gonna It might be 10:00, but 11 noon to 11 on Saturday and then right after divine liturgy on Sunday. So approximately 11:30 until 5:00 and then the Huffley is 7 to midnight.

And we close we always close the bar a half hour before the uh the last hour.

Okay. Father on your application I don't know what my secretary put down.

I know that's that I I I should have asked very good question by Miss Gadoo but you have down from noon to 11 for all of the events.

I don't know if you're doing it as a precautionary but it has down from event dates additional times and time for the event noon to 11. I think Sue probably just did that inadvertently, but those are the bright hours because we don't have the wine tasting from noon until 11.

So, um 5:23, which is the wine tasting is I apologize for asking you to repeat that.

That's all right. Five. Um that's say 6 to 10.

Now, now all three nights of your uh f feast um from 5 until 11 on Friday, noon until 11 on Saturday, and then um 11 until 5:00, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 on Sunday.

And then the the Huffley on the um October 24th um from 7 until uh midnight.

Okay. Um, hearing that from from father, could I entertain a motion to accept the to grant the one day liquor permits for all uh all dates requested at the times um that were just placed into the record.

I'll make a motion to approve the one-day permits for St. Anthony of the Desert Church for the following dates of May 23rd, August 7th, August 8th, August 9th, and October 24th, 2026.

It's our sister Marinite Parish in um Cranston, Rhode Island. They don't have a a large hall like a nice hall as we have. So, they're going to use our hall and um obviously they they filled out the papers. I don't know why they didn't they just don't have an ending time for the event.

It has Well, I'm the boss, so they all have to be out by midnight.

Okay. So, it'll be by mid 700 p.m. to midnight, just so everybody knows. And they obviously know all the rules because they're affiliated with you guys. Okay.
