yeah today is February 15 2023 the traffic board meeting will begin we'll start with the open meeting law here we're showing two open meeting law any person may make an audio or video recording of this public meeting or may transmit the meeting through any medium attendees are therefore advised that such recordings of Transmissions are being made whether received or unperceived by those present and are

deemed acknowledgeable and permissible can we get a roll call we joined the road club for Charlie for call for you guys well we'll call for us and then we'll we'll bring them aboard okay so you want me to do the the attendance attendance Charlie present hello Helen Natalie present Lieutenant Pacheco president and office of Paris president I'll make a motion uh to approve trolley Den meat on the traffic

Board second seconded by Helen and I'll also make a motion for lieutenant Jason Pacheco to be traffic chair second seconded by Helen we'll do a roll call for that yes okay okay motion to accept uh Mr Charlie demet for traffic member and Lieutenant Pacheco as chair Charlie okay yes Natalie yes yes turn it over to you every time so this this is where you would um Citizen and poor removal of units and then just stop

everybody realizes they're on audio and video which means you're being broadcast on camera right okay so how we're gonna open the meeting is citizen input that means anybody who has something they'd like to bring forward anything about the traffic board you may at this time we'll give you a few minutes to tell us what you need to it and if we don't have any of that that's fine too we can just get enrolling

and they bought all of the ones I'm going to read off have been approved by the city Engineers so they're going to be accepted so Mata Rosa of 97 Terry Marie Way location of the curb cut is the same address 9710 memory way the engineering department reviewed this application and found there's no issues so I they say it's fine I do a motion to accept this second second by Tommy all in favor okay

the next one is from Jamal Irish and that is from 111 Terry Marie Way right next door sounds like yeah they were both here they both yeah so the engineering department again said it was no problem so I do a motion to accept exactly seconded by Helen all in favor the next one is 82 Hartwell street from an LLC also for the same address 82 Hotwell Street the engineering department has also approved this one so

okay so then the next thing we have is a request from Atco Property Management of 50 more McDonald's 54 McDonald Street for a 30-minute parking signage the hours of operation of that place is um Monday through Saturday 8 A.M to 5 p.m so it's a business day uh request for request to accept that and and turn it over to a second ordinance committee seconded by Helen all in favor all right all right

the ice habit transfer that to ordinance committee the next one also autism yeah that um right changing of signage all right so the next one is a request from the autism Care Partners a 99 South Main Street for a drop off and pickup signage on anawan Street on the north side of The Travelers building the old uh Insurance building it's a handicap space but what they need is signage so

they can take the kids on and off by the by the vans so um I make a recommendation to accept this and turn it over the uh what's the committee ordinance committee second seconded by Helen all in favor all right the ice habit we'll make that recommendation to communities third one is a request from the four of a five cent Savings Bank

ing yeah with a handicap foreign

Savings Bank which is on Franklin Street correct yep and um they are looking for a handicap space as well as a 15-minute parking space and a 30 minute parking space on the North Main Street side so I make a recommendation that just go to ordinance to be accepted it's like a second second by Charlie all in favor aye aye the ice habit for the coordinates and then the last one is from The Odyssey School

and I read that that's about their uh dumpster or something right okay Benton Street so the Augustine school was that I have it somewhere I read it yeah I read it the Odyssey school is looking for no parking signs between Benton on Benton Street uh anybody here from that area yeah so I guess they can't get into dumpsters they can't do all the food they can't do anything so they're looking for no parking signs there I

make a recommendation we accept this and send it to ordinance seconded by Helen all in favor all right okay the eyes have it from here here's my acceptance right you got it okay I can tell you right I have it yeah you have it the highlighted ones

the only problem with a situation like this um she cannot use the spot at all so you're going to have an empty spot so normally we deny those in the past because it really has to be the handicapped person has to be the driver so that the car can be in the space in a situation like this where they have a van that picks them up or anything like that

um usually I mean I know any other than boys

yeah I don't know if there's like another solution like you were mentioning caught in a curve like I didn't even think of that right or a sign right away there right top maybe like I don't know what is it can you come up for real quick because you're gonna give the van off yeah you're gonna give a man enough is it this house right here yes yeah so what it's a tight he they can't pull the

Vintage so they're gonna pull in the front right and they can't every time this person's parked there yeah like usually they park right here that's the yeah they Park to the edge so I don't know what the best thing it's a little bit of a special circumstance yeah yeah because it's because they're able to pocket anything the only reason I'm saying it is because our van has got to

get close to the curb to pick them up wheelchair bound or yeah yeah so I mean they gotta that ramp has to come down and pick him up is it is it only during day late hours that he gets transported

you know so the neighbors that night could still park there but during the day nobody would be allowed so close to them that's one of those neighborhoods where there's some this old little pocket on everybody yeah yeah it is but the van doesn't fit oh the ramp that's the problem and they can't load a ramp on the angle no you can't be able to get in so what they

want to do is like pull in the front here you know and then he can roll in whereas they can't pull in the driveway and pick them up because the thing doesn't come out yeah could we do a handicap thing just for the day and we've never done it before um no I'd have to a little bit of a circumstance here usually we usually we deny these when the person does not

drive but I think we have a bit of a surface you know but it you know the other thing that we don't want to do is make it so that someone who needs help can't yeah we can't get his doctor's appointments because they're parking them on the road and walking them all over and get killed right I mean we can table it and I can find out from the committee and

disability uh Mr what's his name um

no that's his name isn't it I can ask him if if with a certain time so that way after eight you know after six o'clock where the van doesn't pick them up the only problem is is that because it's going to be handicapped spots even the times no one's going to be able to popular people are going to see it another park there so yeah unless we do a drop off and pick up yes

well if you do drop off and pick up only you can put certain times so that way if after 6 PM if he doesn't get picked up at all and it does not work if there's a a drop off in pickup time in other words after a certain time you know the rest of the neighborhood can utilize the spot but during the time that you know your dad would be going to

the hospital or whatever appointments or whatever like eight to five nobody parks yeah right does that sound good is it what's what's your latest appointment s right

right well you can you can also apply for that as well yeah oh absolutely you can go to engineering and apply for that you can explain your situation that's another option we did it on uh Elm Street we opened up one side only because the people that live there had Wheelchairs and the van would pick them up all the time so what they did was they did it on one side only they did a curb cut

opening and then the individual was able to the van was able to pull up pick up the person and then because if they cut that three feet they can still park right but you'll be able to pull the van in and get them like right there the other thing we can do is we can table the application and then she can look into the curb cut and all that and then depending on what happens

come back and say listen it's not going to happen they don't want it I mean yeah we'll do the drop off and pick up it's up to the board if that's what you want to do we can take apply for a curb cut we can table this you can apply for a curb cut because once you get a curb cart I think you have a little more leverage there with the parking Sometimes some sometimes

I mean we need to vote for for the time you know to drop off pickup for timing or we can table it and you can apply for a curb car I make a motion to table it look into it there though there's been a motion to table it a second third option yeah can you look into that curb cut and then we can come back next month and you can tell us how it went
