The Fall River Park Board of Commissioners held a regular meeting on May 4, 2022, at 5:15 p.m. at Government Center. Key discussions included cemetery operations, tree management, and various park usage requests. The board approved the buyback of a niche at Oak Grove Cemetery for $1,350 and the removal of maple trees at 560 Ray Street, contingent on a $400 donation for new trees. A request for a historic Oak Grove Cemetery trolley tour on October 23, 2022, was granted preliminary approval, pending submission of insurance and other details. Several park usage requests were approved, including a Hospice Bereavement Spring Memorial event at Kennedy Park Pavilion (date to be determined, pending liability insurance), the Corky Row Memorial Day Ceremony at Griffin Park on May 29, and Fall River Public Schools' use of Maplewood and Kennedy Parks for events in May and June. The Police Athletic League's request to use Ruggles Park for a girls' softball league was also approved. The board granted permission to the Department of Agriculture to set spotted lanternfly detection traps at the Quequechan Rail Trail and on Rodman Street and Brighton Avenue. A request from John Lynch to place a permanent monument at Lafayette Park for George "Sneaker" McDonald and his wife was approved, allowing him to begin fundraising, with the final design to be presented to the board later. The board also accepted a donation of day lilies from Mr. Dell Thurston for use in parks and cemeteries and voted to send him a letter of thanks. Significant discussion occurred regarding a proposal from Justin Kokowski and Roxanne Longstone to decorate Kennedy Park Pavilion and the ice skating rink for a winter event from December 3, 2022, to January 1, 2023. Despite concerns about vandalism and past challenges, the board approved the initiative, emphasizing community collaboration. The board also approved moving forward with bids for North Park skating rink and Kennedy Park baseball field upgrades, contingent on securing sufficient funding. Complaints regarding property damage near Father Kelly Park were discussed, with the board deciding to request an estimate for repairs from the affected resident. The meeting concluded with acknowledgments for the Arbor Day Fair and the work of staff.

0:42justice
1:06amber burns helen rigo joseph de silva commissioner paris is on his way acceptance of the minutes from the april 6 2022 meeting oh yes i'm sorry let me back it up open meeting law uh pursuant to the open meeting law any person may make an audio or video recording of this public meeting or may transmit the meeting through any medium attendees are therefore advising such recordings or
1:37transmissions are being made whether perceived or unperceived by those present and are deemed acknowledged and permissible sorry about that all right acceptance of minutes from april 6 2022 meeting second uh motion tourism commissioner rigo commissioner burns secondary all in favor say hi hi hi citizen input any citizen input anybody sign up any correspondence they all have items on the internet okay new business
2:18uh item a call mr piranha we have uh cemetery items and tree department excuse me good evening everyone what do you think you ready to start absolutely okay the first one i'm sorry the first one would be uh buyback of uh niche c30 at oak grove cemetery i had just one question before you uh start this is this the new pot already these are uh these are the existing
2:59niches that were put up a few years ago okay okay the family had a change of heart in their final disposition planning and they've purchased a double grave so they'd like to sell back their niche to us all right um so that money would come out of the sale of lot funds uh to the tune of uh 1350 which is what they paid for the unit okay any questions uh concerns
3:29i have a motion motion to accept motion until you stop by commissioner second second second by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye aye aye tree removal at 560 ray street roots approaching a jayton property
3:53i don't have any questions um they're i believe they're maple maple trees they're ending they're approaching uh probably the end of their healthy life but they are causing damage to the homeowner's yard and they are encroaching significantly on the house my recommendation is removal and the homeowner also agreed to provide some funding for us to purchase two new trees to plant somewhere else
4:28my recommendation is to approve the removal uh contingent upon a 400 donation so we can purchase two new trees to plant somewhere else in their place now that they want to plant them at their current location or they don't want them at their property at all i think they'd prefer them to go elsewhere but they were open to that conversation okay did we get uh no that's your opinion but
4:53did we get uh the arborist i didn't have the arborist look at them because they they're they're pretty much at the point where they should be removed all right any question other questions from uh commissioners another motion more can we move thank you okay commissioner sylvia made that motion seconded by commissioner burns all in favor say hi thank you tree planting at two trees at 500 walnut street new planting
5:23i actually believe it's just one tree it's a paper bark maple i um we removed the stump um a couple of weeks ago in the diagram where the planting well is currently located um my opinion the arborist opinion is planting in that location is not the best idea because they're pre-existing root system and it is pretty close to that stop sign so moving the planting well about 15 feet back further
5:56uh on that sidewalk there's plenty of room to accommodate that spoken with mr denmead and and that's something we can facilitate with his crews if this is approved the tree is being donated or provided rather by the department of community recreation dcr and their greening the gateway community program so we have the tree it grows about 20 to 30 feet in height so it would provide minimal conflict with the um
6:26primary electrical wire that runs above head so this would be considered the right tree in the right place to their standards so i have two questions a two-part question so you're you're confirming that this will not go back in the same place correct i would move it about 15 feet back and then when we typically remove trees why do we put them back in this i know that there are times where we'll remove some and
6:49put them back should we start like a standard of not putting them in the same place so that we're not revisiting the same issue years down the line so the tree plantings that i've been involved with we avoid planting right in the exact same location because of the existing root system it's not to say a tree can't survive in that location and then in this particular situation we
7:13feel it's too close to that stop sign to make sure that moving it back would make sure that that stop sign and intersection is more visible okay it's a vehicular traffic all right do i have a motion motion to plant thank you commissioner burns made that motion seconded by commissioner nefarious all in favor say aye all right and it was only one trick correct one tree yep victor second sorry uh
7:43next item is a historic oak grove cemetery tour prospect street october 23rd 2022 from 3pm to 7pm um so this is a request from um an employee at the library who's also helping me as an intern for her master's in archival science program um doing some work with our uh digitization and filing to make sure that it's up to archival standards um the idea is to do um what she's calling beyond the great
8:23beyond the cemetery gates tour on sunday october 23rd two time frames three to five and five to seven doing a trolley tour so she did speak with dcm about utilizing the city's trolley and that was approved um pending approval from the board um the right up here is um preliminary i would say i i told her that we should get preliminary approval from the park board flesh out the details a little more especially
8:59about ticket sales and where those donations would go we're looking to speak with the members of the friends of oak grove who are a 501c3 as a means to accept the donation and then use the money how that organization would like in conjunction with the cemetery to either do tree plantings or monument repairs or cleaning something to that effect there's a list of historical figures here that
9:34the trolley would go to um in the cemetery this has been done before um not with the trolley but it was a walking tour in october um they raised money donated to the friends of oak grove um and i believe at that time they did some tree plantings with the money i make a motion to approve so second the motion was uh made by commissioner burns seconded by commissioner rigo all in favor say hi
10:01are we requiring liability policies are they paying fees how are we going to work that out are those details that still need to be worked out is that something do they typically need a liability policy to walk through the cemeteries they're bringing outsiders in so i would strongly suggest that yes um as far as who's sponsoring it you know sometimes if it's the city or whatever then we don't have the fee but
10:29if it's a private organization then we do have the fee this isn't necessarily an organization um they want to partner with the friends of oak grove um again a non-profit is it going to be like under your tutelage i will be heavily involved yes so they would have minimal need of a liability policy though yeah if they're bringing in an external if they're using either the trolley which might be out of
10:54service is what i'm hearing now um or some other form of transportation that was something we discussed was making sure that whoever that vendor is has the proper insurances provides that to the city as all the other um like when we've had filming requests they're required to provide a million dollar liability policy and sign that the city is um an additional insured on the certificate
11:22so i think that should be positive all right so i met my motion and i would sorry i would recommend that this group come back once they flush out this information um i'm hoping tonight for a preliminary yes so they can move forward in in putting this together they didn't want to go too much into the weeds if this wasn't something that the board was going to support at all so you
11:44offer your emotions might be able to stand since it's a preliminary approval um amber as long as they know they need to get that down um yes i am on my amend my emotion um to approve pending all insurances and all proper yeah yeah and then we can revisit if they're gonna have to pay a fee or yeah or just even to give you the particulars in the end for either chris
12:10to come back with it or whatever i would just suggest that they come back at some point right so commissioner burns made that motion seconded by commissioner eagle all in favor say hi hi thank you thank you you can sit back and enjoy the show uh item b hospice bereavement spring memorial event at kennedy park pavilion broadway 5 pm to 8 p.m date to be determined um i think the only question i had on this
12:42was because of the fact that we wouldn't be able to push it to another meeting is which date and then are all of these dates available
12:56uh you can the way i would approve it is approve it pending the fact that the date is available because i'd have to go back and look at some of these things i mean um it ideally because it's just the pavilion right they're looking for one of these dates so i think we would be able to accommodate the one of them i guess you could approve it pending that they work out the date with myself
13:23and mr denme okay um and then also for the board are we would we be asking them for liability insurances are we making them pay a fee is that something that we've moving forward i know last year all these people you need the liability insurance i think at minimum at no matter what that's in the liability is um uh this is like it looks like it's going to be an hour um so
13:54i don't think that a fee is in yeah i don't earn for an hour but i would suggest the liability policy because we don't know who's you know whatever you have outside come in you need to do that do i have a motion um i make a motion to approve pending them working with um nancy to get a date and then also making sure that they get all of the policies and procedures that we need
14:19i'll second that okay commissioner burns made that motion second by mission regal and basically at this point so it's on the record what we're saying they need is a liability policy period yep okay commissioner burns made that motion second by commissioner rego all in favor say hi item c corky road memorial day ceremony griffin park at 4th street may 29th at 11 a.m the yearly event underground permission second
14:52commission of uh sylvia made that motion seconded by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye for republi item d four of the public schools permission to use of maplewood park stafford road at on may 25th from 2 30 to 3 30 kennedy park pavilion on broadway at sick on june 23rd from noon to 4 p.m for the ready for kindergarten event my question again are these dates available at the during the day okay i'd
15:25say yes um and during the week same thing with policies i feel like should that just be a given that yeah i think that's and this is a this is the school department yeah basically that liability policy doesn't apply as yeah i'm going to an outside and then we would not be charging there's no fees okay okay yeah then the city agency i make a motion to approve second okay commissioner burns
15:50made that motion second by commissioner nefarius all in favor say hi all right item e mr burns this will touch your heart i know i just said ah i make a motion to improve let me let me read it first item e for police athletic league request to use of ruggles pine street for girls softball league yes i have any questions just so they know that you accept this is just not the whole gamut again
16:26they're trying to do it with the older girls because they can't recruit enough of the others so it's not like it was prior tell them i will gladly
16:46motion to approve commissioner rio seconded by commissioner nefarius ball in favor say aye aye item f request from the from the department of agriculture to set spotted latin fly detection traps on the entrances of the kwikshan rail trail and on rodman street in brighton avenue locations is there any liability in setting these things up it's the state of massachusetts that's asking for this so
17:25well i no i know that but i can see somebody coming back no no we're not responsible for whatever damages or if someone takes their traps or i think it'd be pretty much like if they here it is right here huh i think it's pretty much like when they set up the mosquito of things in the whole grove and everything didn't something like this come before us before some kind of didn't something like this
17:49come before yeah we've had a few organizations looking to drop your grant permission motion grant permission made by commissioner silvia second by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye aye img request from john lynch regarding the placement of a permanent monument monument at lafayette park eastern avenue for george sneaker mcdonald and his wife if granted permission he will begin to proceed to raise the monies
18:26the only question i have is what type of monument they yeah what kind what kind of line you're at i met with him uh he basically is looking to do either something similar to what is outside the tennis courts the slanted little marker up against the fence or he also i also um showed him that at the swansea fields there's a higher behind field i think it's three maybe it's like a little brick
18:58um but it's definitely a um a marker that's permanent cannot be vandalized very easily so he's looking to make something like that but he will bring that back whatever the marker is before the board but he didn't want to start the fundraising for the marker i suggested that he get approval for whatever market would still have to come we have something similar to that in may board right right near the tennis courts
19:27that's that one's lower the one in the swansea fields is higher it's probably about it almost looks to me almost like i would describe it almost like a fireplace type height and it has like a mantle and then in embedded in the brick of it is a placard so that they can't remove it as easily so he's got a couple of options and he's going to see what else he finds out there but
19:51did not want to stop i did not want him to stop the fundraising without the permission from the board so mr smith if you can elaborate to the public and to the rest of the commissioners who might not know who george sneaker mcdonnell is and what he was involved in well this is like a lesson thank you the field is presently named after them and what they have is on the back of the
20:13backstop is a sign but mr mcdonald he was a former fall river police officer and i believe he was actively involved in this league for over 60 years i mean he was well into his 80s out there still raking and making sure these kids had a place to play so he he did dedicate his life to that field and those people involved in that flint twilight league so um i think it's something that
20:44you know is a nice gesture since there is only a sign there i'll make a motion that they move forward so they can begin fundraising and come back to the board with their final plans second commissioner sylvia made that motion seconded by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye meech accept the donation of day lilies from mr dell thurston for the use in parks and cemetery properties i'll let mr smith elaborate
21:18on this so this gentleman contacted me um stating that he was removing a bunch of day lilies which are those orange flowers that grow kind of wild in their perennials and he asked if we had any use for them so i reached out to the chairman and i reached out to chris pirano he did give us quite a few plants i've planted those well i didn't personally fancy laborers planted them underneath a lot of our park
21:51entrance signs that say you know north park maplewood park whatever if there was not any plantings underneath them already we planted them there so these perennials will come back every year and i there were a few plants that i passed on to the cemetery as well so i just think it would be nice if the board sent him a letter of thanks or made a motion in a second to send him a
22:14letter of thanks you know because we did put them to good use absolutely thank you to send him a letter of thanks and um if there's any uh i had to talk to mr pirano about it uh if none of you have been by the new expansion area they did in the two corners of the expansion area the uh urns that were removed years ago they put them in stacks a nice area to
22:40like plant flowers and everything so i told him maybe there could be a project in the future for boy scouts or something to take some of these flowers and everything and dress that area up all right i'll second the motion okay who made them on was it helen help mrs regal made the motion second by commissioner sylvia all in favor say aye
23:09item i a letter of thanks from john patello for lighting repairs done at kennedy park senior field middle street i'll make a motion to a place on file second second commissioner has made that motion seconded by commissioner regal in favor say aye aye item j request from bobby bailey second annual basketball league at kennedy park middle street on thursday and friday evenings from uh june to august 5 30 to 9 00 pm
23:45this is the same wednesday thursday wednesday and thursday oh we have thursday friday thursday friday on the london sorry wednesday thursday let's uh we have permission to change this uh yeah i'll make a motion for chasing dates second thank you all in favor say aye hi um this is the same basketball league that started last year um so this is gonna be the second annual and they brought a lot of um kids from
24:13the community into this so i think this is gonna be a great second year um i don't know if anybody went by last year but thank you um i will be abstaining from this vote because i do help at the league motion to grant permission second night second i am also going to be abstaining but i know there's enough people here uh so because i i do work with mr bailey uh commissioner sylvia made the motion
24:42seconded by commissioner ferris all in favor say aye
24:55all right item k requests from justin kokowski and roxanne longstone to address the board plans for decorating kennedy park pavilion and ice skating rink broadway for a winter event just uh state your name and addresses for the record limestone 22.
25:25justin murkowski now michael street form of a mess okay welcome welcome thank you for having us uh once again we're back josh murkowski organization standing together we are asking for use of the kennedy park pavilion area nice gain rink i met with charlie up there from dcm we already went over some of the details of possibly lighting the trees in front of the pavilion lighting the pavilion and then around
25:52the ice skating rink we would do a patio lighting from pole to pole dcm had already offered to do the light poles i think there's 20 of them as we do north main street and uh pleasant street area with the reits and the columns get a here of our idea can we um accept themselves yeah leave them with me and i inform you yeah that's fine so we have to submit them twitter record so basically
26:19we're trying to get approval to go from december 3rd the day of the christmas parade to january 1st we're looking for journal weeknights to be able to light the lights from five o'clock p.m to nine o'clock p.m during the week and then from four o'clock to nine o'clock on the weekends this way if we're able to pull together some recreational type events and anything like that they would only be on the weekends
26:43and it would give us a little more time to get the people there and we can actually do a lighting at 4 30 5 o'clock when it would actually be dark enough to notice the lights lighting up so the wavelength city we played the lightning out of the way the lights going to the city yes um this is for christmas yes yes finally we can do it for christmas hold on a second
27:05well it's not it's not necessarily jesus is going out there you don't know that you could come back it's gonna be trees we might light it up so much then so any other stuff before the commissioners asked any questions no i believe that's it we're just we would like to move forward with starting some of the other planning as far as if we can get some vendors there on the weekends if you know we can reach
27:30out to some other organizations we already talked with patty rigo from frack in a viva fall river about possibly getting along and getting the narrows involved for some of the decorating and uh once again we met with dcm they're already willing to help bishop electric's already offered the bucket truck so we've been doing this since the buu at the beach that we did here in october
27:48last year we've already been working on the design so that's why i want to come before you to get the permission for at least use to the park for them dates so um before commissioner regal speaks i want to just speak up uh i know commissioner rego is very passionate about decorating the park years past so am i because when i seen the taunton green and everything i'm like why can't we do
28:14this and absolutely i actually approached miss smith and mr perry about it and saying like you know helen's right why don't we decorate you know pass and everything it was manpower and everything and then i get a week later i get a call from council pereira saying that you guys want to do this i said well that's a great idea but let's i know you guys have been meaning that i would think for liability wise and
28:38everything we have our labors in it i think it should be a team effort yeah you
28:49last week to fill him in briefly on the plan just to catch him up to speed and and i even reached out to the man asked him he said that you did approached him already yes i'm mike and that for money and i even said is there something maybe opera or any kind of funding that we can buy for decorations tonight because i would love to i know when they used to do that with the
29:09little displays out here at the other thing we should be able to do that and that's what we're not talking any religious stuff and everything so just so that everyone knows i've been around here for many years this was done at kennedy park years back maybe 15 years back this same scenario that you have pictured here at the main co i call it the cone that makes it look like a tree that was done um and
29:40all various trees whatever my suggestion i know you're showing the pavilion here and this is why we did it before we used to decorate the office building rather than the pavilion because the kids can reach those lights at the pavilion but they cannot reach the lighting on the top of the other and we used to have two huge wreaths that went on each side of that building we they don't have them anymore
30:07because i've i've sent a lot of that stuff downtown here that we used to use before in the park so and my other suggestion is i don't know if you guys are stringing these lights from tree to tree but i wouldn't string them from light pole to light pole no we used to put a wreath or a snowflake or a christmas flag on every single pole and then we would light all the trees
30:32around around it yes because it just seems the kids are not pulling at the light pole because those globes will just yep unfortunately i'm the one that sees the you're up there yes you know nightmare on christmas but i actually i actually not to interrupt you but i actually told this to miss smith if you look at this picture right here at the top of the light hole to the corner of this i wanted the
30:57string lights well when we met with mike dion that was his idea and i guess through the opera funding areas plans for kennedy park so i guess they're planning on eventually doing the patio like so i was just thinking it'd be a good touch to show the city what it's eventually going to be and start bringing tourism into far river photo winter versus going to the top and green and broadway so when you came up broadway
31:21all those larger trees were decorated every year well we wanted this is the first annual we wanted i'm hopefully i'm around 20 years and i plan on doing it 20 years and building to it as long as i'm able to do it i will be out there trying to lead the way yeah i think maybe the top of the provision but anything that's stringing down i mean so basically this i just put this up so you
31:43can get like like a visual yes but in all honesty i don't even think we're gonna light up the outside of it my my thing was lighting up the inside of it because let's just say on a saturday we wanted to have sienna come down we wanted to make that pavilion the focal point of you know santa claus being there there was enough room all let's say we decided we wanted to have like a an
32:02entertainment night and serve hot cocoa or something there is lighting there i think there's some issues with it yeah well we met with dcm we addressed the issue so bishop was with oh yesterday i don't know if he can speak on it but so yeah there there's definitely lighting in there that was there before because when we first redid that that was yeah right it was all all up and running but
32:24yeah a lot of this like i said has been and i think it's a great idea a lot of the ground stuff is a little bit more difficult to maintain yes just so that you're aware of yeah that i know the ground props would only be out on the weekend so like the the selfie station and if we were able to do the hot cocoa tend to something that would only be for the
32:46weekends from four to nine pm yep yep it's the media you're not talking about just introduce yourself for the rest of the world good evening uh charlie denme i'm the uh interim director of dcm and uh i in the last two weeks i spent uh three or four occasions with justin and roxy and and i can tell you they're very passionate about this and uh just today uh was the last walkthrough i
33:16did over there with uh my uh concrete construction forum and darren medeiros mr bishop ronnie costa um ms smith's uh uh head supervisor and uh it was the last piece that we had to address uh and well tomorrow i'm gonna go with the uh building inspector mr hathaway and we're gonna touch on the uh the inside piping on the plumbing fixtures but um yeah we went we went we checked
33:45everything and uh mr bishop will come in and he's gonna hang the lighting he's going to wire it and that no one will be touching anything none of the wiring got there wouldn't be no ladders there'd be no contact with any going up and uh it's all mine and i can tell you the passion flows but i went one night we met there at six o'clock i mean my wife came and my dog and
34:12they had of the size of a football squad out there volunteers in the you know and i can tell you this smith mr pirano we've all been in this the city's been in this from day one and we've just been as passionate as they are and i can't say enough sorry um so when will this be this is for the winter right or is it gonna be you guys are putting this in like soon or not
34:36no i know you said but you said that you guys have been out there so i didn't know if they were like we're going to make sure well now's the time to make sure the electricity is going to go out there oh yeah yeah no i know it said he was just talking about going out there now he's gonna save we're gonna make this a summer thing we can turn that skate and
34:55ring into a roller rink and uh have ourselves a really good time to be honest with you that is the that was the intention when we did that skating pond over it was a matter of fact i think we had roller derby people that used it for a little while it was like a girls group they were they were pretty rough out there i was like this is concrete that
35:17they know they're going to be all right but they that was resealed so that the kids could use it in the summer to ride their bikes in an area where there weren't going to be cars coming out of them or their scooters or whatever that was the intention of doing the pond over and that's why for this long we have not had cars parking in that or carnivals or whatever because everyone used to drive their
35:41stakes of their tents or their whatever it was in there and it just made it the permit you know permeated the surface so in the summer absolutely it's for that and in the winter right now weather permitting it was for ice skating yeah it would be so nice if the weather was cold enough where it would freeze and we could have the ice skaters that would be just picture perfect you know
36:08not to change the subject but the game plan is uh by talking to the mayor and council of pereira and that they're trying to look to see if we can pipe that area to f to do this so that way from october to march we have a frozen down the road yes and then down the road in that way this will be even better this will be even bigger than provenance as i said
36:29and that's why i told the mayor i would like to have lights hanging up because an idea i came up with is skate under the lights yeah that's right yeah you can mock it down all day long yep that's right absolutely and there's a lot of potential for future revenue i mean there's a lot you can do it there and generate revenue so in the future once it does get redone or
36:49whatever um yeah that would that would be amazing um i make a motion to a top test oh wow yeah she has to talk yeah go ahead i'm going to tell you the week that linda pereira called this all right the chairman the week before i mentioned this at this board meeting i want to know why we didn't decorate the park my answer was they steal things all of a sudden it's okay to decorate
37:20the park no it's well can i speak on no no no we we i was told that many times since october i've brought it up and brought it up and brought it up i have this whole layout of what i really want it to look like and that's for another time but i was also told they're going to steal it they're going to vandalize it they're going to this they're going to
37:41do that and so i have the answer for that we're an organization we're going to take turns and we're going to go down there we're trying to do it as simple as we possibly can so in case anything does get vandalized we can fix it right away so are we going to be able to do that every single day hopefully yes but we can't promise that we'll be there every day but we will try
38:00to stay on on top of it as much as we can to make sure that they don't vandalize if they don't steal it and we chose things to where they kind of can't steal or won't steal the only thing at ground level will basically be the tree in the middle of the ice skating rink the mimic tree over the statue everything else is above six feet seven feet so makes a difference
38:24and no no disrespect to you we've been playing it since the october at the booth and it's not no it's it's she's i brought this up at christmas time yes last year yes i've done it before no no they're gonna steal this now it's okay to decorate the park it's a slap in the face to me come out that's how i looked at it i'm slapping the face there we go commissioner hold
38:59happy like because i know you and i had the conversation months ago where she was like the boo in the beach i want to raise money to buy decorations for the city and i flat out told her don't do that because you shouldn't have to spend your money on things that the city should be providing and i flat out said that to her because it's right but you know what there are so many people that
39:14are here tonight that are doing all of these great things for the community that the city should be doing themselves and it's taking all of the people that listen to the other one it's not the park board though i'm i'm all for it that's what i'm saying it ends up coming down to the city helen yeah it's the city and like i said i'm it's not it's think about all of the
39:33people that are here tonight on their own time yes all of these people are doing this and it's stuff that the city should be providing and they're just not so thankfully we have people like this that are willing to do it but now that they see all of these people are willing to take all of their own personalities this is where my opinion i was trying to tell her is
39:53i want you myself and everybody all the other commissioners and dcm workers let's all work together and do it i'm against it i'm not just like and this is me because i've been trying to get them she knows and they know i've been asked to try to get them to do it your wicket didn't want to be bothered no that's not no no let's not go there because now i'm going to get defensive
40:17come on come on it's not a matter of the workers not wanting to be bothered it's a matter of the park board and the park department only have so much power and until you get the entire city on board with the idea then this park board and my workers can talk about whatever they want for as long as they want for how many hours and days and times as they want until you get full cooperation from
40:45top to bottom this board and my department was not capable of pulling this off bottom line straight out no other way to put it until you get cooperation from top to bottom do not blame my workers i have 10 guys in the park department that work diligently to maintain over 29 parks and playgrounds in a department that had over 40 people working we can only do so much we cannot go back to doing what
41:17this organization is coming in and saying they are willing to do with the amount of people money manpower and what the city is now trying to work with so unfortunately when you wanted to do something we did not have the capability of doing it but now these people have come forward and we are now a very large collaboration and our voice is being heard sometimes the voices from inside don't
41:46get as heard as the voices from outside unless amber says probably not as popular for me to say that but it's the truth we can only do so much and we did it for as long as we could at the at the park but it's true it is going to be vandalized but for for all of us to work together that's one thing for us to try to do it alone it was not going to be
42:09pulled off again so unfortunately that's the case we all know that you were passionate about it and you have an opportunity now to participate in making it happen yeah and that's what i was going to say too is like i've seen other meetings and everything going back and forth with the arts community these people used to do this this one wants to do this this work together why work against each other just work together
42:34it's the best thing for the community if they get you know if we could get 50 people to help us on this amen it goes a lot exactly there's so many organizations you can work together you get pull up mirrors that's right people go on tuesday to watch it and the more people that you have there watching it and utilizing it the less chance something is going to happen but
42:54if you see it up there and then you just it's just lights of course you see probably you see they're not too much of a different demographic than fall river no they're not getting vandalized because it's something nice for the city to be honest in like the community of lights that somebody goes and rips down overnight i mean i don't see the commissioner byrne says i mean it's not
43:12going to be popular but i'm going to say it people need to check their eagles at the door it's for the community work together and that's it if you're here for you to fight yourself on the back then you're in the right way and i mean if the foot maybe the forward police are involved as well you know maybe we're we're welcoming everybody no i'm saying that's not possible the security thing i know
43:32when they had the the um security down here i know that the city had a police officer here watching him they had them watching it because they know what to expect so if that's the case maybe the city provides a police officer to watch that it's already somebody's beat path i'm sure yeah just i've heard that they do spock there's already
44:06all right we're all on the same page now okay so do we have a motion to approve anyway commission survey i apologize i'm letting everybody sorry sorry i can remember as a kid i grew up in kennedy park um you know going back like 40 50 years we had kevin you're showing your age and we had that decorated the ring and yet that every christmas time it is it is it's fantastic i'm fully supporting this
44:43and um i agree with miss smith though it at times changed i had nothing to work for the park department and again 40 50 years ago and they had plenty of guys we just didn't have it to do it but now that we have groups coming together and uh i i hear the passion how can we not uh you know go with this yeah there's gonna be vandalism things are gonna be maybe stolen things
45:16might be damaged that's just a society we live in i know it's probably not a popular thing to say but reality is what it is and if we have groups that are willing to uh their work to replace things like that are vandalized or stolen um that's fantastic why wouldn't we do this so again how many folks are part of this i remember the kids skating at that rig you know with the lights around it and
45:47we've always had it especially christmas time there were all kinds of decorations along the side of broadway inside the fence um so i i will definitely support that so do i have a motion to we all work together as a team on this i'll make a motion that we all work together i'll exactly prove this okay commissioner faris made that motion second by commissioner silva all in favor say aye aye
46:15thank you so much thank you be in touch with us guys yes we're gonna make fall river justin are you leaving not yet okay all right item l notice the bidders went out for the north park skating rink hood street and kennedy park fall field upgrades on middle street you got to be the senior field right mismatch correct
46:50so the reason this is before you is because the the north park rink some of that money i believe has an expiration date of june 30th so if we're gonna get these things um awarded that opens up on may 5th which is tomorrow the other bid for the kennedy park opens up on may 12th which would not be we would not be meeting until the first wednesday in june so with time being of the essence
47:21i wanted to at least bring this to the attention of the board normally the board awards these items based on the recommendation of the architect the architect sends a letter to the board stating this is who i feel um has provided all the you know the uh gonna be able to provide the service um and provide all that we need however um some of these estimates what you know i
47:52don't know if the bid's going to come in higher or lower so based on the architect's recommendation as well as a securing and having sufficient funding in the given year i believe the board can make a motion to award these contracts based on that or you can wait until june but you're pushing this envelope if we have to complete by june 30th because you'll never award and get the work done
48:30so it's just the bids have to be the bid would be awarded i don't like you but we don't have to start the work the work for the for the north boxing north park needs to be as far as i know from what i've gathered i've been researching this because i haven't really been involved in that part of it but north park i believe some of the work has to be completed by june 30th
48:56for uh a hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars what did that work maybe charlie will be able to bring us up to par on that that was the secret but the baseball field is in our budget so we can award the baseball field and not we i can encumber that so that they can finish their season and we can do the work that's what i believe you were getting at but yeah
49:19that was like but then we may be able to bring us up to pot on the um north park one yeah uh miss smith is pretty much right on there i i think the only a portion of it has to be expended by um by the end of may and the rest of it has to be completed and expended by the end of june june 30th i think i think 125
49:42was june 30th and i'm not sure and i maybe the board can recall in some of the conversations is there i thought there was 125 000 for one and then was there 225 that was going to be coming down in july i think it's 250 wasn't it i'm not sure that's that's four that was that terrace that was for the terrorists i think that's out of the the
50:18i think the 125 needs to be spent and expended by june 30th but the other money that was it we haven't been planning we won't even get it until july i don't think we have well i think we have it already but okay so depending on that that doesn't happen how are we awarded this contract this doesn't have it doesn't have to be spent by june 30 to the 125 pasta because it was a
50:40different funding source i understand but it would depend on that and this is what we're saying depending on how we can how that funding comes down we'll be able to see whether we can fund this 225 totally this north park project or whether it has to be broken into phases we don't know so the board is pretty much um if they award this these two things it's based on securing the proper sufficient and proper funding
51:10for the given year of the contract because when you award the contract i talked to the purchasing agent when you award the contract on the day you award the contract you need to have that funding in place it can't be funding that you're going to get like spend half it can't be funding from one yen funding from another in the same contract so keep that in mind that if this doesn't move forward we'll have to see
51:37we may have to have a special meaning or to move it forward correct we're estimated between 200 it's estimated to be between 200 and 220 000 and it must be completed by june 30th must all be every seats must be completed and i believe i read i read through him i just got this just got a lot of things but um i believe a portion of it has to be completed by the end of may
52:10i read i read to it it may have to be completed by may charlie so that the billing and everything is back to the state by june so that might be the 125 part of it but tomorrow we'll sit we'll know better when we where we're going when the bids open and then from there we will we'll sit down in uh with the purchasing agent whoever it is that we need to do
52:38but if the board wants this to move forward they may have to vote the way we said pending the recommendation of the of the architect and securing sufficient funding for the each given contract so that's up to the board or they'll have to meet again the amp is going to make the portion you already know exciting i'll make a motion that we uh go on with the project candy park in the north park
53:17let's see it in mine second so you're going to award based on the recommendation of the architect yes providing that we can secure the funding to award the projects this year yes okay commissioner faris made that motion second by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye aye did you say it commissioner oreo yes hi i'm sorry no problem i just want to make sure that everybody had i all right uh item m
53:50complaint from a neighbor of property damage from father kelly to park softball would this be something we just make a motion to place on file yes but i'm calling him up right now yeah no yeah we're not we're not going to have the pizza i'm just going to talk about it yeah yeah have a seat for now case they need you uh answer any questions jack jack you don't have to come up right now um
54:17i'm sorry so is it was this just something so just so the board knows i have never received a estimate from the individual who has come before us and in your packet i've also included the document that mr hackett has sent out to his um teens that's on a man um as to reporting any type of damage so um when i spoke to mr hackett he did say that and he did i did have email
54:54exchanges that i was copied on and he didn't send this out to his managers and i don't believe anyone had said that they were familiar with anyone damaging the property of course they don't can i say something uh no yeah no no yeah hold on it's a different item all right your item's next
55:33but the same thing is she showed that there is damage she put in the email that um i guess she's still going in there she hasn't had time to get a quote yet but i mean the last time she was here we told her to get a quote no not for anything that how many months ago was that yeah was the one fix jack was the one um there's two she's showing two damages
56:06now was the one fixed already or no that other one hadn't been repaired the siding everything around the house has been repaired and then this happened okay i'll try to know about until you right okay so these are two new she's saying these are two new ones all right sorry so i guess we'd just make a motion a place on her letter on file because there's not really anything we can do about that then you're still
56:31waiting i mean i can well he's saying that he we're saying that we needed an estimate but he's saying that they fixed everything so maybe they just did it between them i'm assuming so when she was here the last time and she had said all that damage you guys handled all of that what happened was she was supposed to get on with john perry and john was going to get a whole
56:48new estimate and nothing happened so i don't know if she so so i'm assuming that it hasn't been taken care of then no it was all fixed this is no damage no so all the stuff that she was saying was broken the last time she was here is fixed by her she just repaired it herself i believe so right i was waiting for john perry to get a whole nature and
57:12said he would be the little man if you if you remember no i do remember that's what i'm saying but how do you know that it was this was like i went down the field and everything was repaired so her sighting that she's showing us in this picture was repaired no he's saying that that's new everything that you can no but that sighting was damaged in almost the exact
57:33same spot the last time she came in here didn't your insurance repair it because did your insurance repair your house he's saying no that john john parent so i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it was never repaired because john didn't get the estimate and she said this is gonna be there was one there and i'm thinking now there's two and neither one has been
57:58repaired because a the woman didn't send the estimate in and b i had no what can't damage on one house one second in the insurance paid was it this white house the thing here is that all other teams are practicing on that field and to associate the damage with with one of my teams i don't think it's fair and i was down there the other day there's three or four teams i didn't even know
58:26who they were because it's a public pocket and if the field is open they can go down and practice my teams now we're using we're getting into using wooden bats so the ball doesn't go that far so it's kind of hard to say it was one so to be honest with you i met with my teams and i said listen you're going to be practicing if there's any damage please get ahold of me right away
58:50what i did is i registered my teams at the end of march which nancy knows so they'll be covered so i think that in a practice session if my team damaged something and i go to the state commission that we would be covering they would but my teams consisted of all the teams that were scheduled that day they didn't work out because their players couldn't make it and the team
59:14that did i get over them and i get all my other teams i said don't be afraid to tell me somebody caused property damage because i will go to the insurance company and being a scheduled practice we might be coming and i didn't know about this until nancy got a hold of me the other day you know that's why i'm here to say it could have been another team jordan did it you know
59:36now recognizing from the last time was here it got it heated between you and mrs prague and what i remember what john said was mr commissioner burns asked her to get a quote from a contractor john said he would be the mediator right to hand the quote to you he wasn't getting the quote he was going to get it from her when she got it and then hand it to you that way you guys
1:00:00don't have the confidence you want to go to the insurance company that never happens maybe the board needs to make a motion to send something to this mrs crock to say they have not received the estimation until they receive the estimate you can't you can't move forward okay so i guess i mean i don't know so i'm okay so i have a question now so again it wasn't his team is this like m and n
1:00:21like together then essentially yeah because there's there's nothing x so i'm gonna make a motion to um place m on file yep m is her her notice on file yep and n is so pretty m yes on file i'll second that motion commission and burns made that motion to place item m on file commissioner email from mrs so that everyone's no one who's watches the email from mrs procting the damages dear properties
1:00:51and commissioner ferrari ii all in favor say aye wait a minute and then item n if no one has any questions if people have questions i just don't want to make this longer then i think we're all on the same page because i cannot keep talking about this issue for item n i make a motion that we send a letter to miss proc ask her to contact the contractor whoever it is to get a quote
1:01:17of all the repairs to send to either nancy john perry the interim jesus i don't send it to somebody so we can get it over to mr hackett so that we can get everything fixed and then going forward mr hackett's men follow this paper that he put together which i love uh and then going like i said no one will be in trouble it is fill this out
1:01:42and call it a day also jack if it gets to a point where something is hit you ask let's say there's four teams on every single person says hey nobody hid anything but if obviously it had to have been one of the teams if nobody else has been on that field well my umpires will be there correct that's their responsibility so if but let's say that everyone says it wasn't them then there has to be some
1:02:04repercussion for everyone involved whether they get a game taken away whether there's a fee a fine or whatever because something like that it's like this is great but if you're saying that if it happened that day everyone's saying oh it wasn't us it wasn't us clearly it was somebody you're saying that there were other teams so maybe it could have been another team but if there's a day where
1:02:22it's only your team and no one will own up to it there has to be some repercussions for them the only thing i ever say is this was a practice session and teams around here hey closet yeah we're getting right but where are these other teams coming from jack because i'm going to be honest with you 90 of the time you guys are using the field would you think that's fair yeah they're intimidating in somerset league
1:02:43but the field is open so they practice here because there's other teams in the other leagues and like i said i had a meeting down the field and there was four teams practicing and i couldn't i had no right to chase them off the field field was open anything unless it's during your time when it's during your times you should ask them to leave because otherwise it's going to come back
1:03:04to you and nine out of 10 at this point in the game you're going to be behind me and you have to schedule an answer at that time it wasn't scary no but i'm saying right now going forward you're going to have you're going to be using your field three quarters of the time where it's not going to be available for them unfortunately yes i can help with this damage yeah i had one question for
1:03:22you though when uh i know you got hopefully the council passes it you got the approval from the cpa for the lighting and first of all i want to congratulate for the popcorn the letters go forward and i want to thank the committee for letting us go to the city council i mean that's going to light up the park it's going to be beautiful but my other question was you already have the net
1:03:45you already purchased the net wasn't you gonna ask them to see if they could install that net with the lighting it is what happened all right joe i had a fellow come down from marshfield who does ball fields and golf courses and he looked at it and he got back to me said jack you need two nets one in the right field one in front of that white house
1:04:08and he gave me a price of twenty two thousand dollars our league doesn't have twenty two thousand dollars so i told him i was going in for a grant would he hold off and wait and be with us and he said well i'm gonna do jackets you bought a net for 1600.
1:04:24i'm going to switch and give you a golf net and the ball will never go through because if you're not playing and another team comes down and they hit a ball you know you're going to get blamed for whatever damage so what we're doing with him because he will get the contract i think john perry handles that he is we're giving him our net and he's giving us a golf net when he puts it up
1:04:47and he said it's the same value and we'd better that way the ball won't go through it all jack who's putting his that up uh bob fernandez from uh marshfield it's his company he does all the golf courses and he does baseball where's he gonna hang it is he then you have to put holes in the ground he's gonna handle everything okay he gave me a price show of twenty two thousand
1:05:08dollars and what i did is i incorporated that into the lighting and the committee accepted it which i think he might only have one more year with this because he gets his light he's not gonna get his lighting before september oh yeah i know it's gonna be another year then that was included okay okay i just want to mention yoga but i watched the meeting i didn't think they did they didn't mention nothing about them
1:05:28i would like to mention that we're going to wooden bats and i will stay on wooden bats even when i get the lighting and the netting that'll be our future wherever takes over after me and i'm doing the best to keep everybody happy and you know i feel bad for the neighbor you know i had her in fourth grade just when the guy come down and said we need a net in front of that white house
1:05:55all right okay all right so we're gonna place this on fire uh right well no i made a motion you made a motion i'm just kidding um i made a motion to send a letter to mrs prox for her to get the bid give it make sure she submits it to someone so they can get over to jack so that he can submit it to his insurance okay can i just say one thing yes in reference
1:06:24this lady at that meeting also said that she would contact jack whenever there was any type of damage damage and right here she did not yeah it came dancing so you know communication goes too with two ways if she doesn't get in touch with us we can't do anything okay so just to clarify too about the lights and everything i know that once that the council approves it that comes out it's our project afterwards right so
1:06:59we'll be there but the what the money doesn't come from that cpa until the following fiscal year okay so he won't get awarded that money until probably september or october of 22. no i know that but i'm saying once you get the money it's the it's just like maple wood it shows up for the bit yeah we handle it so we'll be able to install that net and everything else well this is where the problem is
1:07:28just like this gentleman saying he's going to do that we're going to have to put into the bid now that gentleman may not get this bid because it's going to be an electrical company and he may be able to subcontract with the electrical company but the city of fall river puts out that bid saying we need to get this much lighting and the installation of a net the city of fall river has the netting so the
1:07:54netting will not have to be provided that all has to be in your contract language but it doesn't necessarily mean that the person you know is going to be the one to get that bid so you've secured that that's all well and good and and but the problem is it's not your contract to make after that it becomes a city project with with us not having to include the price of the net in
1:08:24because you have the net yes though right if you wanted to but he's going to have to bid with an electrical contract because he's a net installer not an electric board that's why that contract is going to go out you cannot name the company you had to go company a company b company c but the purchasing agency in the city will select what company and say that i understand that it's not going to be
1:08:54your company we have to completely stop from scratching the bin you you've provided those companies so it gives the the cpc a ballpark figure no pun intended to know this is how much money contractors will do this work for it's an estimate but when when the city puts that out through an architect like we did maplewood we're going to get whoever whatever we can specify we want a certain kind of light we can specify
1:09:21we want certain kind of things but in the end and that i would think that the electrical i don't think we would put it out as two separate bids i think we would incorporate it with the electrical contract that depending on how it works that would be an understanding that that would be up to the purchasing agent do we put it out as two separate bids or do you incorporate in it so that the
1:09:40electrical contractor has to sub somebody to put up a net i just think it's great that we're going to light up this field and bring life to it and i think it's great city for the future that's my opinion all right so we have that i want to say two things first of all i want to compliment nancy and her workers all the years i've been involved with the chairperson and the workers they've always been there
1:10:08i'm the director i'm the director he's the champion what joe just said a little while ago about working together is the best thing for the community and i know you guys once in a while have been tough on me but we have worked together i understand that and i thank you all right all right so commissioner burns made that motion uh
1:10:42enjoy your season hopefully we don't see you again exactly i pray we don't see you again and i mean that as respectfully as possible thank you for the point thank you for the porter john too that's his point of john
1:11:07this item o has been withdrawn they are no longer interested okay and putting them there which is the oregon state university student who wanted to do some collecting of samples in north carolina so um they've withdrawn their requests okay all righty thank you imp information from the director of veterans services memorial day events planned for memorial day weekend at oak grove cemetery prospect street
1:11:36kennedy park south main street north park president avenue miller green show street this is the annual event right annual events yes uh make a motion to approve second okay commissioner burns made that motion seconded by commissioner ferrari uh silvia all in favor say aye thank you veterans all right item q update revisit put in in picnic tables in ruggles park on seabury street by no no no's ice cream shop so um
1:12:14attached is when it was stated here by last month mr perry said that he was going to work with um mike dion could work with this individual buying picnic tables and that if you see the email mike dion from uh cda does not purchase any tables for an individual if the if the park department or the city wanted to put more tables in there he would be willing to work with us gotcha
1:12:43we'll should accept this and place on file second commissioner sylvia made that motion uh to make it a place on file seconded by commissioner burns all in favor say aye aye item r we visit permission to install signs for the vaccine clinics locations in various parks and mediums uh after doing some research like mr smith said stated last time with the islands and everything the application is here
1:13:17it does have to go before the console to put anything on um mediums and everything it's even though we still control it but they still have to have that permission um the other thing is to uh i worked uh myself and miss smith got some calls this past week uh when the signs went up mr yep i know mr demean uh in uh um i called the mayor and i called mrs curran and talked to her
1:13:51what happened was when we uh talked to mr uh mr perry had told us that they were four by eights but then after when we asked if there was like a yard sign like a political sign in that we were the impressions that we were going to have these small signs on the fences they ended up putting up four by eights and like seven of them at one point like did it three different languages i
1:14:13think it was like overkill that we were getting complaints by people that it was like way too much so like i explained to them is maybe just have three signs but space them out and if you had a four by eight you could have did all three languages on that i yeah yeah the thing is amber we have to look out for the rest of the people that don't it was it just it was overkill
1:14:39i'm picking up what you're putting down but i think that they're probably that size because people are not gonna like walk up to it get out of their car they probably want people to be able to see and then also for a very diverse community where there are people that speak multiple languages reading multiple languages so i'm i i'm picking up what you're putting down i think it was within like a hundred foot yeah it
1:14:57was like seven signs seven yes yeah seven signs seven different languages or no seven different signs they look like three different knights three language three signs here one sign here three signs here within a hundred foot spot so we've addressed it it's not i think yeah we made it we received the call and uh what we did is i sent uh the supervisor out and we did we made adjustments and we moved some around
1:15:26instead of putting uh each language at each park we leave a couple and then we just spread them out to different parts yeah so instead of picking six or seven parts right we just spread them out as much as we could i said you know try to switch them up and leave different languages here and there yeah and uh you just spit them out and it worked out it was just a it was just a little
1:15:49curveball and you know and uh you get a little aggressive with the signs and yeah we worked it out and it's all said and as far as the importance of your agenda that's just a learning tool that i put in there for the board so if that does come before us again that that is the application and so that we say you know this is the procedure but we i forwarded that information to test for
1:16:11her to apply to the city council if it was actually the city clerk did because i reached out to her and we've since said that too so the signs are good but we just wanted to revisit it with the board in case the board had gotten complaints and to provide the board that information for the future as far as the medians should we be more direct with where they can put the signs in the future
1:16:37so that they can't go rogue no i think this was just just like a one-time thing i think this was just well the signs are big and it was and i think when they make those signs it's directly for the reason you said because you're driving by or you're maybe on the other side of the street but it was it was simple it was a lot of signs and they were all connected so it kind
1:17:00of looked like it was an eight by twenty yeah it looked like a train one one car after the other so it kind of it was uh indeed seven we live and learned my god that was seven warren street is all covered with a sign that's velocity that's that's

1:17:57that p held on 8 13 2022 from 9 a.m to 7 p.m we've already gave permission we were just waiting for her to check the parks and she's chosen lafayette there's nothing else to laugh yet not that i know motion to accept the change second commissioner sylvia made that motion seconded by commissioner rego all in favor say aye aye aye item t list of dates from roxanne trujillo to set up the tables at father

1:18:55all righty any commissioner inquiries i have one yes i know i know but i i had i have time now so it's okay um so last year um i was a part of the block party that we had done in kennedy park and it was amazing and i feel like since we did that there's a lot of people that are coming forward trying to do kind of the same thing which is amazing as well but
1:19:21i've noticed that there's like five different events like all within the last few weeks of the summer or like maybe not five but there are several different events kind of all doing the same things at all different parks and it's one of those things where i feel like maybe we should in the future try and get people to collaborate more because there's like one person doing something here one
1:19:40person doing something there sometimes it's on the same day and it's you're kind of taking away versus maybe everybody working together and then every summer it's an annual thing but you choose a different park each time instead of having all of these different events that are all spread out just because like i said they're doing the the art festival which is basically what our block party was last year they're
1:20:01just kind of pertaining it more to arc this summer even though they'll still be the basketball league but it'll still be the back to school block party that we had done last year and now they're doing the same exact thing at a different park like the week earlier right so they did do it in a different month the last time all right i was at brooklyn and yeah well that
1:20:18also goes along with what we had the rule of one event per month per park that also would help to do what you're doing so it's just a matter of the board enforcing that rule perhaps they say listen uh if someone comes before them you can't do it this month we only have two events that month yeah can you move your event to a certain month but i think the the event with the the situation
1:20:44with the august event is everybody wants to try to do a back to school backpack giveaway whatever and that's going to be done in august it's not going to be done which is which is amazing but it's more of a if somebody contacts you like hey i want to do this it might be something like hey we already have that going on here's their contact information maybe you can collaborate with them versus
1:21:03having which i know not everyone's going to want to do that but like what there's just more resources for one date versus having split up resources for two different dates because maybe they have a contact that would work best for this it's just like i said everybody working together versus having all these little smaller events um that may work but like you said unfortunately some people want
1:21:24to have their own little thing themselves and and keep it low-key but yeah that's all that i had but yeah being more yeah that was all problems community-friendly and getting to know because like i said brian and them i from the block party that we did i got to meet them and now i've i'm helping them with a bunch of different events now and it's something that we wouldn't have known unless we had collaborated on
1:21:46that last event that we had done so so yeah that's all any other commissioner inquiries
1:22:01before you say anything i just want to say uh one thing for me uh is it on the agenda where are we gonna be i just wanna say thank you oh okay that's fine that's all i want to say go ahead i just wanted to say thank you for the support for the arbor day fair i think it went really well uh national grid donated some trees so we were able to plant four
1:22:20trees at north park um lewistree did a demonstration we had davey climbing a tree doing some tree trimming um i think we had a really good turnout we gave gave away close to 500 uh saplings to community members so i'll be back in a year asking for your permission dude again so well that's what my commission inquiries was going to be i was going to say thank you to you
1:22:41mr demean the rest of dcm and the uh the tree division and uh some of the guys from the cemetery and that were down here and that and i brought my kids and i it was a good time it was educational the library had uh the i will uh walk in uh story it was all signs along the park and he went from step to step telling the story and that so
1:23:06and then we had some trees in that given and so i had the kids planted and i said to my father we're going to plant them in your yard because in 20 20 30 years from now then two blue spruces might be the city christmas tree yeah so we'll give back to the city we might not be we won't find him charlie his kids might find us 20 years you better be
1:23:32i mean working here or like yeah here yeah all right any other commission inquiries okay and uh it's that special thank yous to chris and nancy for everything you guys do you guys do a lot so and charlie for stepping up into the plate all right yeah i have a motion to adjourn motion to adjourn second all in favor say hi hello does those facts
