commissioner Burns second by commissioner Regal all in favor say aye aye aye John Ferreira 21 Coral Street Fall River uh Peter Martin 249 Lawton Street in Somerset Tim good to be here he's stuck at work he's going to try to get here it might be a little late uh the reason we're here uh we will hear probably about five six years ago prior to covert um just to give you a little bit about

myself I'm the uh I'm the president of the affordable girls softball league Pete is my vice president I'm also the varsity girls softball coach at Durfee and Peter's my uh my uh assistant coach we've over the years we've tried to uh we all come from Somerset I had a program in Somerset I lived there and built a I was the president of the league in south complex with water tank

for 11 years we moved up Pete did the same thing with his daughters because Robert we all had daughters so it was it was girls girls but um did that then when I took over the job the position here at uh at Durfee that's when I brought my uh my travel program over Mass Titans and um and tried to try to incorporate and get some more uh interest in the in

the sport from local girls I mean I drive around you go to any baseball field you see a ponytail it's like what's she doing there she belongs in softball they can't play it and they can't play baseball in Middle School and I can't play in high school so uh but that was their only Outlet uh since then I've been I've been at Jersey now 13 years since I started at Jersey I think uh

probably 12 years ago I started a middle school program and I called it the Intercity League we've got six middle schools in in the city and uh that was a way to try to get girls you know before they got to Durfee because I'd get girls like Durfee to never played in but want you know trying out for teams and it just you know they weren't uh they didn't have the ability

so now with the middle school programs with all six schools we generally have four to six schools that can participate in and field a team we do that every Saturday morning I go down I run we have a double header and I get to see what the girls look like and you know see some of them more advanced some play travel ball for different clubs and such it gives me an idea who I have coming up

to Durfee hopefully because it's not always that they uh they go to Durfee I'll have I'll look at five kids and someone go to Diamond some will go to well they used to go to Bishop Conley you got field you got the School of Choice which they can pick anywhere and I might end up with one girl so we were here like I said probably about five six years ago prior to covid uh

requesting uh we were showing some interest in the cupola field on Broadway at the time it was just Peter myself and the numbers just really weren't there cooperation and such since then the program is has evolved immensely we just had tryouts last Wednesday um and we had that was just for tens 12s and 14s we had over 60 girls there which is which is great um it is just to try to draw attention to

them and try to get the girls you know I had girls showing up with old maple wood shirts and stuff and like okay finally I'm you know I'm drawing them out of the out of the woodwork they finally come into where they belong um and but we just haven't had a place we've been a cuss uh cuss uh practicing there that's been off field uh we coordinate that and problem being

my field at Durfee finally just got completed and next year will be the first year that we actually play on that in five years we've been busted back and forth yeah to the cost to play The Varsity games we when I started there we had a freshman JV animosity team uh about four or five years ago we lost the Freshman last year we didn't have enough girls for JV so I'm down to just a varsity

team which means I got to take whoever is there you know whether they're cable or not we've got a feel now I don't know if any of you have gone by Durfee and then seen it but I feel there's better than any field college or anything in the area it's absolutely gorgeous and here I am next year I probably won't even have a picture which you know is is kind of sad

uh but again you know we've got you know with Tim on board we've got a lot of young parents which is great uh that's how I started you know my daughter started there was seven and and down and you know I knew I was in there for 20 years and and I was I was there I've been doing it for 26. but uh we've got some younger parents now and um and it's

just exploding right now we've got our 18s trying out over at cuss tomorrow we got a 16s trying out at cuss um so we look we were looking for a a place to kind of call home let's say and with the three Fields down there we spoke to uh the president of uh of the baseball league I don't know if you've got that in front of you she sent the letter um

which I appreciate you know she highly recommended that uh you know we take over and so that the girls would have to give me one second uh just to let you know we got a letter from the president of uh for the national baseball which Mr Smith will put a part of the record okay I believe I have that one and uh and I think you have a copy of the letter that

we submitted to the board um letting you know you know what uh what our goals and our hopes were uh it's been there for it's been vacant for two years uh we do do a lot of fundraising um as far as repairing the fields and upgrading it to wherever it needs to be uh the bones are all there I mean it's just it's just small modifications and uh you know upgrades some fencing that

needs to be you know uh corrected which we would handle all of that uh through our fun fundraising efforts um but we just we just need a place to call home and we just need a place for girls I mean there's nothing in the city for girls for girls for softball there's nothing the only good the only time you're going to find a girl playing softball is baseball that's it I mean

because that's and it's it's a shame especially for us at the high school level not having uh you know not having the talent that we should I've got two thousand we've got over what two thousand kids at Durfee I I can't I can barely feel the varsity team you go to case they got 700 They just won the states this year because of a farm system and I know

because I was part of it I was part of Somerset who did very well also in in the tournament this year that's our goals for Durfee if you can change something on a book at Birth record you can probably get commissioner Burns to come out of retirement all right she was on one state champion period oh yeah we can do that she played at Ruggles for years I could probably get the two sister-in-laws too

so coach wodowski yeah which uh he's he's come back to real well he's come back to help us as well and uh you must have played for caribana the Matas who was the coach how long ago I just said how long ago but yeah I think when my sister-in-laws played it was the woman

that was the last good team I had at Durfee you know what was it was the the program coming out of there we don't have that and we've lost that we've lost the numbers we've lost the you know the wreck you know which we'll do a little bit of wreck you know just to draw some of the girls out but uh commissioner Burns knows as well as we do you know

once once they're in there we've been doing this for for a long time and uh you know travel is you play travel I'm assuming no you just played record and wow cool but um yeah and travel is a great experience for the girls I mean we've taken I've taken teams down to uh ESPN played at uh in Disney at Wide World of Sports uh great and great uh you know uh experience for the girls we've taken

them for five years we've taken to Myrtle Beach and the Nationals played down there last time we went coach Pete came in second just a great uh you know and I tell the girls I said you're not gonna remember the score of any game and you probably wouldn't but you'll remember everybody who played with and that's it's the friendships and the camaraderie and all of that that goes along with it I tell my girls and told

them all all along as the memories that's all it's for so uh I guess that's all I can give you if uh if anyone has any questions I'd be more than uh do you have any questions I guess my only question is like historically and that's probably more of a question for Nancy is I don't know how that plays out as far as fixing the field who where that responsibility lies with the city versus

the league with the others we would require that they have

they have provide that liability policy yeah to do that yeah you would just probably have to add as additional I'm sure yeah additional insured yeah yeah so the basically if they're doing the repairs themselves we just ask for a heads up notifications feel that such and such a day so you know we don't get phone calls from the neighbors going hey there's some guy tearing down the fences out

there we know and that most times they would either communicate via email if it hasn't isn't something that can get to this board through um you know what in a timely manner but for Mo for the most part they would say and and I'm sure they would know you know this is what we're planning on doing First Steps blah blah blah and they can come before the board yeah we would

always notify the board on Nancy and say listen we're interested

the only thing that we ask is that they don't get into these big giant projects because we had that before where you you know we don't want to be left halfway with the project half done and then it doesn't get completed but that's not something that happens a lot we just like to just safe God against that so we just like to know what kind of projects are coming before us the

board gives them the blessing and they go about their business other questions I had was that yes other questions uh 5013c I knew you said fundraising do you have to stay solicited solicitation for well Tim and Tim is going to be in charge of all the fundraising Tim is the one that heads up the uh a day of Portugal and all these a lot of these functions so Tim is going to be

handling a lot of the fundraising efforts along with you know different companies that we all know I'm a contract I mean he's in business and Tim's in business so we know a lot of folks and just you know knocking on some doors and saying hey you know help out here a little bit and just just so you guys know because like I know the prior League they were like tied in with the little

leagues and everything but it was they never had lights there and years ago it was to offset them paying lights they got to hang Banas and raise money correct but they never had lights there so they should have never been part of that but that's you know before but if you're going to do that we're going to need that certificate of to be hanging any banners and everything now okay so any banners

in the Outfield I work with yeah that's fine that's fine that's not a problem she'll get you what you exactly what you guys need to get okay again we've we've worked uh you know with Somerset being president they haven't been you know we were familiar trying to uh also get in with the cupola like I said back then what back then so we pretty much know the process and know the expectations of the board and

everything comes through you folks before we go ahead and I mean if we're gonna paint a dog out you know we're probably going to paint it you know we're driving by 24 see these pink dugouts well we just we just dropped off what did they do they did do them last year yeah last year we just gave them 16 gallons I think of the green paint that because they were painted blue them

dugouts should all be the green and should be green yeah that's what the official color is green on the outside and everything and the electrical boxes are blue or gray like bluish gray yeah my bluish gray buildings indicated Public Safety that is electrical you know panels like not I mean there's electricity in our buildings as well but what they do is it's usually clock buildings Park dugouts are that far

screen and things up the grayish blue okay so whenever you folks deem necessary that's what we'll do okay all right um keep it green for a while so now that we got this letter are you gonna work with since I think that the board can I think what they're looking for is the vote of the board to be forward right and they will provide whatever is necessary I'll work with them to provide

whatever is necessary for them to move forward with any improvements they're going to make or any type of you know I don't the fundraising thing at this point you know I try to stay out of it until it doesn't involve Pock properties what you do on the outside it's like I I don't want to know about what yeah the banner situation comes to us because the fundraising is being done on the property yeah so

that's where we have to get involved that's not wrong so I think the first thing that we want to do is get in there and take the dirt out of the infields because those stuff before you plan to do it so we've ripped the infield oh Tim has a special machine that he could do that with and we'd get volunteers you want to come up oh there he is basically when are you guys playing tomorrow

no but I mean this way they can say effect you know you have opposition they're going to say as soon as soon as you can we'd like to practice there yeah we can you know start getting the girls familiar with the fields and we can get familiar with the fields check out you know the bathroom is a concession stand see what needs a little uh improving what doesn't Keys Whoever has the keys

well uh the first step I'll be honest with because I'm sure she probably has she did tell me that there's some stuff to go through and that she had the keys and she even asked if she can store some stuff there a little bit while we're while we're there and we said that's not right those were the problems that she's not supposed to ask you yeah this has been the non-going situation so

if if there's an issue of something that's going to stay stored there that has to come okay yeah yeah unfortunately I mean I'm just trying to not get you guys I don't blame it though you guys make the call if it's going to switch it's going to switch Yeah I mean because I think the keys as wow the keys the board now has said in the in the buildings department and we want

keys to these properties we don't want to get accused of taking a Gatorade but we are not going in with snacks but at this point it's like if there's an emergency we don't even have a kid again so we're trying to correct that with these we used to have this in the past where we just said okay we've got the building hands off so we're trying to correct that at this point so when

you get these Keys which technically I'll be honest with you should take this take the actual process of I have no do it the way you're doing it but if we were technically following the rules the keys should come back to here correct yeah that's right we should be able to go into that building first and look at that again has this building been abused whatever that it shouldn't go because now you

guys know what we didn't do that well I was just going to say that because by that but I was taking the keys we could say well she destroyed the place exactly and it could have been nice you can witness the condition of it to the park Department absolutely should go in there inspect the building and then say we're ready to pass it whatever it is there that's something that should be addressed

with this person should be left in there because then like like if something goes missing sure if something's damaged it's just too much um and then also these are like the special City keys that you can't duplicate no these people don't have those okay so would that be something that we would need to just re-key it then at that point that's the board's decision that's the boy's decision if you want to do

non-duplicating keys and you go okay your league gets five Keys eight through e that's what I do I label the keys you know we get five Keys a through e they come in they sign for the permit now you know the keys are not being duplicated yeah you have 50 keys out here right yeah that that'd be my suggestion is they need to build in like like are you planning on doing concessions right now

yeah right now no not right at some point I was gonna say I know they have a couple of baseball like pitching things yeah machines and that's that are in the Outfield and that so then and some of the dugouts when we went there for our tour and then I know obviously they have the concession stand so that equipment I would say let's get that equipment out of the internet I can touch

and then have them get that stuff off the field and that and my suggestion is let's have new keys made because you don't know if they give a key back exactly you don't know who has and then they put their equipment and something becomes missing I guess they still have like a senior team going in an AAU team going so they use a Lafayette all right okay and again to the through this process

I'm always looking for is to be able to practice on the fields and maybe dig up like Pete said the infield we can play with some of that stuff all you folks are taking care of them so right now while we work out the logistics and emptying the building and getting the keys in order you guys are looking for permission to be able to access the property yes do whatever you need to do now

me too access everything we can use a generator generators if we have to you have the letter to us tonight they're going to accept that letter we'll try to speed this process of getting the keys back and them vacating the premises of whatever they have in there I mean gonna have to put it somewhere moving in there we wouldn't let them store that if they weren't going to have you know my

thing is the biggest thing right now once we vote is just getting your policy liability policy you say it's affordable not get it to her so we can get the permit to use we can have that far um yeah and I right now you don't yeah I mean if you're going to have practice in games and that's what I will permit to you but as far as what the work you're

doing on the field just let us know and it's an email because that's what we're doing this is what would you know our proposed schedule is yeah yeah and again like I said it would just be the infields of getting ready for the girls we'll probably buy new bases and such I think the fence eventually black yeah what yeah would go through through you folks with contact dancing and pass it out no I was

just going to make the motion um so I make a motion that we improve they work with Nancy all that good stuff any cosmetic things that you want to go through let Nancy know just in case like Joey said if they're certain colors um all the policies will go through Nancy and then on the flip side if Nancy could contact Mr Vining and let him know that or give him like some sort of a

deadline to get that stuff out well that's you make the deadline 30 days is that too long no well what kind of stuff does he have in there is he going to be I mean those big pitching machines are those easy to unload or is it like somebody will take those I don't know

they probably I don't think so I'll be honest with you I think they could have gone back from so many years because because normally I have no idea normally in a concession stand like that um you would have to you'd be limited to what you could use because you didn't need a full somebody with a food handler's license in order to handle any resources that's why we've always used convection ovens that assault uh

self-contained and anybody can use it it's all the fries in there you shut the door and it pops out you know Burgers hot dogs snacks yeah right yeah yeah I agree um all right then we'll give them 30 days to get everything out of there and then they'll return the keys to you um and then from there we can inspect make new keys and then give them new keys and in the meantime you guys can access

the field to do whatever you need to do good I just want to add that we change them locks I want new locks when we re-key it right oh yeah so once we get the keys keys

because if someone else has those keys and I know the non-duplicating are really expensive so that's the other one well I think that this is a good side and a bad side to that because we can keep track of the keys and what that does is it it it does have accountability at the end of the season we go okay your permits over you mean the five Keys like I do with the soccer league right this

guy gets a this guy gets B this guy gets C and they sign for the key what it says is if you lose your keys you are responsible to re-key all those locks not the city of Fall River so that protects the city as far as the key we're good with whatever yes yeah I mean I think it's good you should really I'll be honest with you it's for everyone's from protection for all our properties

that we give it all because he could have a disgruntled guy that leaves his league and he's got a key now and then when we re-key it that it's a non-duplicating key

commissioner Burns has to come and help out and she needs to come play for 18 plus team yeah next year there you go thank you thank you guys she just can't she just can't vote on stuff anymore thank you have a good night uh

all right Item B request from Mike pereiro for the use of Brooklyn Park basketball courts Wardell Street on Friday August 11th from 3 P.M to 8 P.M rain day August 12th for a hot shot competition for ages 10 to 17 years old and 18 in adults this is I think our annual event do I have a motion so excited make a motion to accept second commissioner Ferris made a motion second by

commissioner McDonald all in favor say aye aye item C information from the floor of a Garden Club regarding the planting a tree and other uh or other plantings in the Kennedy Park guarding at the Pavilion uh area Broadway this is just an update for us that she switched the tree around I'll be requested like Teresa she wanted but I make a motion to accept and play some file second nap

well I guess you could motion that you accept that tree actually oh I would do it that make a motion that I accept the tree okay commissioner uh Burns made that motion for a second I did second by commissioner Paris all in favor say aye aye item D request from Jack Hackett to extend their permit to include a wooden bat full League at Father Kelly Park Globe Street yes I was a typo

sorry from September 9th to November 18th where is that have you gotten any complaints now we will no I'm well I don't want to extend it if people are arresting bats which may you know it does a thousand percent increase the power from an aluminum bat yeah you're playing softball so so far we've come so far so far if they do I'm gonna set up the meeting and then I'm gonna

make sure I'm off that then commissioner Burns is here no no to accept this commissioner Burns made second second by commissioner McDonald item e request from James cross and add itional concerns from the pickleball group pickleball courts on Bay Street he wanted the lights till 9 30 right which we can't do yeah city ordinance is nine o'clock all parks are closed yep so I did just so the boy knows I did

send an email to Mr crosson and I copy you on it no I didn't I think you sent us the thread though afterwards I think I might have yes so um I informed him that uh what was in City audience I also informed in that we would have the tree Department see if they could do anything with that tree if not we've got to see if we can Outsource to take

because but they they are in front of it I can't say that I've been there at night to see what the shadowing is on the courts I can do that um you can trim them back and and the other thing was I had asked for specific dates but so far I haven't I guess he hasn't worked it out with the People Incorporated because I haven't received the specific dates that they wanted to

work with so it's for the tree cutting down I mean has that come out of your budget how does that work mine or the tree Department budget I guess they have a we would have to Outsource that so we have a we have a contract with a company I don't know whether we could get it to come out got into that but you can see that the branches are maybe shout out where the lights would

project down I mean I I don't know like I said I'll have to make it a point to go there at night and see how much of a maybe we can get some Opera from them how much of an issue it is I mean I think if it's just you know the Trees of overhanging it and sometimes that can be an issue I think why they really want the trees trimmed

is because when it rains a lot of stuff falls out of those trees and we are having a drainage issue there coming down from the back of where there used to be a volleyball area so you have we do have a couple of issues there but we try to stay on top of what it really really rains heavy we got to go with the power washers wash off with an area of those Accords but

for now addressing his concerns we are in the process of addressing his concerns well I guess we've trimmed them before so I can see what it's going to cost the lights off the tree is pretty high because I know that originally the tree topper did raise all the branches up so these we did point that out from day one actually but we'll see what we can do but I'll

get a price and I can bring it back to the board if you want yeah yes please and that's it right so the lights go off at nine you'll find out about the tree and he's going to let you know when he wants to have a event with people Inc

so Chris I guess the two questions is a can the tree Department pay for the tree um yes we we actually have that um type of tree um that we didn't have a place to put at the time so it's been we've we've had it stored for a little bit um but we can certainly it's a Yoshino cherry um and we do have it so I don't have a problem with you know putting that

into the cemetery and a lot in the area can accommodate that tree yes so that's sports questions I would think all right make a motion to approve Mission McDonald made that motion seconded by commissioner uh Burns all in favor say aye just one thing Chris uh yes in the future just have everything come through you please okay very good thank you thank you thank you

good evening Chandler Hearn a Street Fall River train of Myers Bay Street phone number all right yes so we've been uh up to that area all the time met with Chris from r l regarding the uh man lift got the numbers for that I think we'd like to do one week starting on the 14th takes us to the 19th um to rent the lift we have a pretty well broken down uh with our projector

how we want to go out in the evening when it was kind of dark or be able to put the points on come back roll all the hard call the basically it's all green and blue come back through do brush work for all the black lines um and the kind of the clay color of the paths um and then come back through and do the detail where it block off the white

where the photographs are going to be um so it's pretty much gonna be probably three day works and two night works and I know there was possibly an issue with working in the dark which would need to be able to project onto the bill we have the projector we have the little 2200 inverter and quiet quiet generator I mean it's like about as loud as I'm talking but what time tonight

um just as long as it's dark so this time I'd say if we could do like a cut it cut it by midnight right I mean you can't have you in the pocket after nine o'clock that's a city auto we can do that okay but I I don't know that I would go to midnight I think I would take you to turn off it would it be better to start at like 3 A.M no and go

that way I mean because what we need is a block of time where it's dark

instead of getting one hour and no I'm saying by from doc say seven to 11 pm rather than until midnight it doesn't really get dark until like 8 30 right especially because the sun sets 11 o'clock is uh noise pollution perfect yeah 11 and then you're gonna end up having able to call police in early I mean it's with paint push and paint is pretty silent even if you think the generator is not allowed

pictures of people you're putting up there yeah do you have definition Alex that's Helen it's certain ways this is the this is the Olmstead the Olmsted mural he's been passed a couple hundred years now are the pitches copyrighted no they're not no they're they're they're what do you call public domain they're public domain pictures it's like pictures of Fall River from back in like yeah indeed good call All right yes

we can figure that out you don't want your picture up there I control City 12. 12 becomes yeah we can just like Mark points quick then we can we'll know where everything is well no it's not a huge wall and it's not it complicated piece you kind of got to figure when you break down and that kind of thing but I think we have not permitted out to my knowledge past

11 o'clock yeah so I don't know and I know that you're not having bands and whatever oh yeah yeah the point of it all is yeah once we do that yeah we're now on there yeah I think I was saying to you odd deadline to you is 11 o'clock yeah you guys have like a sense the lift for those amount of days do you have which day what times you'll be with

yeah that would be would be yeah that's the Monday the 14th right now okay yeah yeah we could do we could give you a breakdown for a chance like because now you're now you oh let's hope it doesn't rain and I'm just saying it's true no it's true so your schedule will be you know we're going to be there till 11. Tuesday we might be out of there by nine you

know yes I'm just randomly but then that helps you if you get a call because you know that he's there because listen you guys you know and I'll say listen this is the schedule that was submitted granted it's subject to change meaning of weather but I can forward it out to everyone on this board so if someone happens to get a phone call into the other departments like yeah VW whatever

someone happens to get a phone call we go oh no we know they're there they're doing this they'll be done by such and such a time tonight so I think that's a good idea yeah to have that so get scheduled but then also make sure that like not not that it would necessarily like get in their way but make sure if there's like an event or if there's like a food pantry or anything like that that

may be happening in the same place will come in at right that's I did mention that I was gonna say I know like we have our event on the 19th so that's and that will very much be extremely busy over there so if you were thinking of doing anything on the 19th I don't know if that because they're like two to three thousand people show up over there like it's a very large event

so we're on the other side of Kennedy but people Park on that side and then walk so

um and then the last thing is where are you guys leaving the lift that's another question one of the questions that we have they can lead

do that but Chelsea said that her company already has it's like 10 or 20 pop-up tents and everything like that so when it's like that all other organizations have to go through that sign-off process so if it's going to be an event like this then rather just give it up I think they have to do that because if not somebody can come back at us and you didn't let her do it have her

do it so I think it's just the right way to do it if it's going to be this much more than having all these agencies there that we need I mean with the food distribution you usually you'll charge them for the Park yeah yeah trying to do a good thing there with the food distribution I don't know I didn't speak to her so I don't know if this is turning into just an

there from Saturday to Monday I got picked up sometimes the porta potties they don't just drop off and pick up the same day and she's going to either use a wire Tire or lock I would suggest that probably put a walk because yeah now anybody can go and Iraq somewhere else well the Porta-Potty question I I via email forwarded her to the health department yeah that's who's going to make that decision

stay there for three days because if it tips over then it becomes a concern but you know gets one if Tufts health is um sponsoring this I don't think the 125 is that big of a deal I think it's going to be a problem because she's been giving out grants to everybody yeah she gave me one so so do we want to see like put a time like if it's a two-hour event it's not I

Massachusetts cities and towns and there has been a very heavy want and need for Girl Scouts in Fall River and be able to recruit and give girls the access and opportunity to be able to check Girl Scouts out we would be holding the event on the 15th from four to seven um it would just be like a simple like hey like come and get some flyers we have the playground we'll have like bubbles painting rocks

um different like feature activities such as like a nature bracelet things like that it's just kind of a time for parents to come and check out and girls can kind of like come and ask me questions if they have any interest and if they want to sign up they can sign up right then and there and it's also an opportunity for me to be able to find volunteers within the Fall River

Community to have you know leaders and volunteers and to have more access um for Girl Scouts and fall over is there a specific reason you're doing it during the week um so we're just doing it during the week as like that's something that we usually do our events during the week we find that during the summer like events on Saturdays and Sundays like people are just not able to come to so holding it

from like four to seven gives the opportunity for kids who are staying home from Camp to come after um also gives time for parents to come after work to come and check it out as well how will you advertising us um we advertise it more so through the community and also through our own social media and advertisement as well I was just saying is I know you said romance Park wow yeah I know

I was just thinking the guys that were here in the first agenda girls softball yeah you go by then you probably say also like that you know we actually have the Boy Scouts that come on the 19th okay yep that there's a lot of people but obviously it's a Saturday yeah yeah a lot of people that go there so if that's something you would if you wanted to

be on the um so are you saying for me to have like a table at your event yeah you can pull like a tent up or okay like a whole Space um let me just double check I just like click over this no you're totally fine um that's a lot of people there so yeah no I appreciate it so we actually do have volunteers going to that event

this is so the thing is is like I know it's kind of wonky when it comes from like Council to like community events so that's actually more of like a community volunteer event where Community like that's where like volunteers and leaders would go because they're the people that know the faces of the community me it's more like I'm coming in from like an organizational level to say like hey I

would love to get my numbers up in this community this is a community that we kind of uh have it rated as like a you know a need community that you know was traditionally a very big girl scout community that has now post coveted that kind of dissipated and we want to bring that back so I guess what they're asking is what made you choose Ruggles um to be honest uh I just did a couple

like you know Google searches and research and found that it was kind of a centrally located part that has you know a playground and this again like you said it's not necessarily busy so that's also another area that we would like to explore today you're like hey you know either you could have a troop meeting here or you could have you know a community camp out here different things

like that as well too is that ice cream place still open too I believe so oh yeah okay there's an ice cream shop right across yeah yeah so it's just it's kind of just an event it's just a simple recruitment event there's no kind of like fee or registration or it's going to set up a table in like a 10 bucks yep yep that's all it is it's just kind of like a very

simple couple of hours girls come and get to check it out to kind of like bring Girl Scouts to college I'm gonna say two we have is uh great affordable Recreation yep and I've also worked in there maybe they can advertise for you too yup yup I've already actually reached out to them we actually were at the last event that they were asking guys I just want my Ruggles box yeah

no no trust me I appreciate I appreciate it as possible and if we gotta we got like an old the first group saying like there's nothing for girls to do we're trying to help no no I appreciate it and if there's if you all know of any other way for us to like promote it and everything like that I'm more than happy to give you my contact to be able to do

every night okay like this but we can see what the schedule permits as far as the practice because there are people at and the tryouts and that we'll try and um I think there's one day that we might conflict with them for review which is kind of come in the next flip that out okay how long just before do you know how many years like is this is there something thinking long term are they

not going to have Fields over there like I don't know but but prior to them Durfee was there right so we're lucky they really yeah they didn't know before I'm just curious to make your own life easier for next year is there a you know yeah whatever but it doesn't matter in the past BCC has used those fields as well for their soccer teams but I don't know okay teams as well but we just kind

of crossed the bridge because when I get this just I mean as long as there's no conflicts I have no problem with it but that schedules like the schedule before the season starts so that's only reason so if it's here then yeah she could be like block those off but right I don't think that's you know I think they don't know who they're playing it all depends right yeah it's available

actual girls for the lead that we were talking about lights what lights for games in that girls oh okay both bottoms I'm just saying all right I'm talking about is this is for this is their regular Youth Soccer okay this is not the Premier Soccer no no because I know we were working on lights I just wanted to make sure that this boy knows uh we want to make sure that we

provide that lights too like we do with little league yeah I guess that was my only question too because it's so the boy knows I did have a timer installed at britland so on Friday nights I was gonna say don't think we shut off at the 9 15 like the rest of them right but because of the type of time where they are if we put them on on a Friday

they're going to stay on all weekend um well unless I mean I don't know whoa here's the Dilemma or I can give the league a key here's a lot of Glamor is because if we don't do this for them we've done this for all these other little leagues and now it's been some people have been getting whites for adults for pickleballs or tennis courts and everything how fair is this for these

kids or whatever right yeah I don't think anyone's cheating yeah yeah it's what's going on so I we can start with lighting this field for the weekends and if I can put the legs on seven days a week they're on seven days a week at the pickleball court they're on seven days a week oh so you're saying if you put it on a Friday night it's going to then turn on on Saturday night because

because it's just yeah it's like that old yeah I have to tell that we put down the pickle bowl for and that neighborhood park are fantastic they you program them on your computer I could if you said you know something needs to be changed I could go in and change it and then yeah so I think the city of Fall River should make as we talked about Premier feels and light your Premier feels and permit

out your Premiere fields to multiple organizations and that lighting will pay for itself if we Institute this whole thing like everybody's been saying because that lighting is fantastic all of your Lighting in the city's parks are ancient that's what we're making what's going to have right that's what neighborhood has yes so these fields though are it's open so if somebody on the weekend wants to use them they can

it would be open house yeah yeah so I mean that's nice though like if you if people want to play a pickup soccer game like I'm not one of them but if people do right attract bicycles all this yeah because it's a brand new field right not anymore no no it really does definitely once again there's a lot of things it doesn't even work and that's why the board was cutting back with

the practice the practices to try to just preserve what was left in the life of this field so um I and I have to bring up to the board that I did receive a request today from someone looking for practices at Brooklyn um I did respond to them that the previous vote of the board was that that would be strictly for games I will lead them toward travasso but there is

limited time there as well because we're going to reach a point where every night classes is being used and that's a grass field they're gonna say but then it's all but isn't Portland taking us for the most part too for games no no when it comes when you're doing like the the schedule for like diamond when you add all of that in even with the youth oh wait these are songs Friday nights and diamonds

organizations are taking six and eight hours it's not for games um practice they have them blinking permits right and they I guess that's the we have the issue though is you don't want the field sitting empty and not being used but you also it's like the wear and tear kind of people that not so Cooperative I guess is the word um but uh I think the board next we're going to have to consider permitting out these

fields um because I think it it almost maintains them more because you get them used for the correct activity by the correct people when we open them up like this caught Blanche we really don't have control over who goes in but the problem we can't have a monopoly either so we have to come to a right like a happy medium you can't have one group have a monopoly and that's what was starting to happen

so I think that's when the board via the city council is like we need to repurpose fields which is exactly what we're doing with the softball thing we're repurposing those old baseball fields that weren't going to be used to now hopefully generate new life for the softball league so I think for now the lights will go on for the weekend and see how that goes um it may go good it may we may we'll know how

it's going within this time frame of a month probably by the next meeting because the first game's August 25th one question Charlie do you have any guys that work at night nobody I'm just saying I know if you had emergency guys and say if they could just go by on a Friday night I know but I'm just so unfortunately that we're gonna have to try it or you can give that leave the key and

we're kind of say in two things we're saying in one breath we're Layton courts pickleball whatever you want to light that caught seven days that feels seven days a week that's we could do that too if it turns into a Ruckus and you pull it back my thing is it's you're gonna end up and have people practice in there that which we don't want that we're telling they can't practice and we

leave lights on there seven days a week well by the time these people are going to start using it for October November December it's going to be dark in five right five o'clock because they use it through I think November yeah this is the end of October on here so it's the boy's pleasure do you want to put them on for the weekend what do you want to put them on for the week

I think for now we just start the weekend and then we revisit whether it's winter time I think that's what Helen is yep on a trial basis yeah so let's make sure we include the schedule and the motion so that someone come back and say hey yep so so you're proving this major motion we try it for them you're gonna make the motion to approve this schedule and do
