4:37So, it's extremely they fly up and down that street and on that corner right where that gray car is parked is actually a do not park between signs and they're always parking there.
4:55Yeah, there was um the no parking between signage and there's also some speed limit signage along with some slow signage in the area. Um I do know officer Barbosa can touch base on it. We do have some enforcement um that does go up there for speeding.
5:15Regards to the speeding, the Florida Police Department traffic enforcement unit, we are there almost on a daily basis. It from the mornings we work a day shift from 7:30 to 3:30 and also a night shift from 3:30 to 11:30.
5:33So, we have sometimes one or two offices at all different times of day. We understand your frustration. They do speed. We're there enforcing it. We issue our tickets almost on a daily basis there with the signage that's there.
5:51I'm not sure what else we can do.

I mean, I don't know if they we I know when I moved because I bought a townhouse there in two 2020 and um when they were showing it around, they did have a mirror in one of their areas that I guess they tried to see if they could I don't know if they didn't go through the city or not, but um but I don't know. It's just like especially in
6:16the winter time with the snow, you can't see anything.
6:20It's like you're taking Yeah. And I think that little bit of an incline too on North Main makes it difficult cuz what happens is you you don't realize it with them coming up that incline or going down and coming in and out of that driveway does it does make it difficult which is why the no park in between signs is there. Um I can definitely um put for parking control to
6:40visit the area more often uh for enforcement. The only thing with that is it's just Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4 pm.
6:48Um, so unfortunately any hours after that it would have to be through the Florida Police Department, uh, the non-emergency line if anybody's in violation of those prohibited parking signs.

8:05Yeah. After after a recent motor vehicle accident over there, there was a request from one of the residents for blind driveway signage, which we also did put up as well, just to warn drivers um that there are people exiting or entering a driveway.

I'm member of the Forest City Council Public Safety Subcommittee and I'm actually here representing uh Marissa Riley who's the resident at 945 Wilson Road. Um Mrs. Riley reached out to myself and to the council uh regarding some of the concerns back on July 24th, which the traffic commission received an email on. Um, and I've since
12:15spoken to her a few times about the concerns and I've given uh, Director MacArthur a copy of um, the letter that I asked her to put together with her particular concerns for the record. Um, so I mean I don't I'm not going to read the entire letter to everybody, but essentially her concerns are she lives uh directly across from Gina's restaurant on Wilson Road. And what is happening is that there's an excessive
12:36amount of parking going on on both sides of the street on top of what they already have.
12:39Genius.
12:40Genius. Correct. uh on top of what their parking lot already holds. Uh her concerns is is the fact of individuals who may be going to the restaurant in that area are not only parking near her driveway but in front of her driveway.
12:55And at times where her children are outside playing are bringing some safety concerns and also she's had to ask people nicely to move and that always has never been a nice conversation for most people. Um so essentially she wanted she has asked on behalf through her through me um to bring these concerns to the traffic commission to see what can be done to try to rectify the situation. Um you know I said to her
13:18just in the order of how this operates um we would defer to the traffic commission first to determine what would be the best course of action. Um and then if the council does get involved as as a body then we would do so. Um, but I've I've gone by a few times myself, especially on the Sundays, and it is a little chaotic over there, especially on on a peak peak breakfast day. Um, so
13:40that's pretty much what I have. Um, wanted to present it to the board.
13:44Has she tried putting a sign out to park in front of driveway?
13:48I I don't I'm not aware that she's done anything as of yet. Um she came directly to it was the email on July 24th to director MacArthur, the city council as a whole and the traffic board. Um and that's how we ended up here today.

14:29and traffic for is not working at that point. So she's kind of rocking a hard place. Um I have advised her to call the police department obviously when those situations happen, but as you just said previously, it presents an issue in and of itself. So, I'm not sure if there's anything the traffic board can do, if it's signage or if it's a study of any some sort to try to give her some some
14:50space where her driveway and the rest of the the road is in and of itself.
14:55I know this week after receiving this complaint, looking through the complaint, going to the location, there isn't really adequate safe space for people to park on that side of Wilson Road being the south side of Wilson Road.
15:11myself and the traffic director. Um, what her and I discussed was from the property located at 923 to 987 Wilson Road, which would encompass three properties with 945. Also, possibly putting signage of no parking between signs.

15:44Um 987, his property adjacent to Wilson Road isn't wide enough for a parked car, which we all know on Sundays, people park there.
15:56The same with 945. She has a U-shaped driveway.

16:08And that from that's why we we're going to propose from 923 up to 987 no parking between signs for that stretch of Wilson Road.
16:18And there's also a fire hydrant in front of 923 Wilson Road. So it would you can't technically park within 10 ft of a fire hydrant. So it would cover that as well.

17:11It it Yeah. And I think it was the most recent interaction that she had had with an individual that was what prompted her to reach back out to me and say, "Hey, can we do this?" And she was unable to attend because she works late on this particular scheduled day. So I said, "I I'll go on your behalf and present your concerns to the board."
