5:04Yes. Michael Coughlin. Yes. Okay.
5:07Congratulations again. Thank you. Good luck.
5:13Next we have a septic system repair at 66 Shannon Street in Fall River. Um Mr.
5:21Ragi, you're the presenter. I will. Hold on one second.
5:27There we go. Uh so this is a septic system repair at 66 Shannon Street.
5:32Currently at the property there is a drinking well, private well and need for a new septic system. Because of the proximity of the existing well to the proposed system, the applicant found the ability to extend the water line um in Shannon Street so that they could connect to municipal water um allowing them to decommission their well. So the system itself would only be in support of a one-bedroom home. So my
6:00recommendations to the board uh were sent in and it would be to approve the plan subject to the following that the existing dwelling shall be connected to the proposed extended water man in Shannon Street as shown on said plan.
6:14The approval of this is required by the city of Fall River water department. A one-bedroom deed restriction shall be recorded at the Fall River Registry of Deeds. and three, no work regarding the new septic system installation shall take place until all water service connection work has been completed, inspected and approved. So with that, I would say this is pretty good situation
6:37um fixing a relatively bad one with a failed system in a well in close proximity. With that, if you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them.
6:47Okay. Who who's the property owner? It is the petties that are on the phone today. Okay. Mr.
6:54Mr. Petty, Mr. Mrs. Petty, can you just state your name and address for the record? Yes. Go ahead. Cynthia Petty Russell Russell Petty, 1065 Spencer Street. Okay. Um, so you've you've agreed to all these conditions.
7:10You understand what the what we're asking for? Well, hey, Bob, are you I'm a little concerned. The city's expecting us to put in the main lines from where it's where it's cut off to to our to 66 Shannon Street. I if that's what you're saying, I'm not agreeing to that. I'm agreeing to probably because it's financially would be straining on us if we had to pay for that. So, I would
7:43really like I'll pro I'll probably put in a se um a a well a well because we cannot that. Let let me offer this. The the plan that your engineer submitted shows the proposed water line and the only way that this board can approve a new septic system is with that new water line. There has been no proposed well shown on the plan. So this board can only act upon what plan, okay, your
8:13engineer has submitted. And we had discussed this, you and I, as and you were in agreeance to extend the waterline and tie into it. Um, and then now I guess you've changed your mind, which is fine. You have to do that. But this this board cannot act on the plan that's being presented today because that a new well has not been contemplated. Right. I mean table this proposal and you can come
8:40back with a with a with a new one working with Mr. Aguia. Yeah. Well, the water department just called me yesterday. I was waiting for their call um about the um you know the uh the main and I thought that the city was responsible to put the main in but they said no. Um uh what's his name? I got a name here. Jacob. Jacob. Right. He said no that I am responsible to put the main
9:06in to the house. Yep. I agree. Yeah. So, I mean that's probably going to cost well over $20,000 to do that. Well, the op the option may be that you may need to install a tight tank if there's no other option and then you would have to pump the septic tank out every month.
9:24That that may be an option, but working with your engineer, I know Bob's microphone is not working, but he's well verssed in in all of this. So, if you have the ability to install a well and not need any variances on the property, then maybe that's something that you could do. But but until we see that plan, this board cannot act on that. So, if that is the case, you you should most
9:47likely withdraw your application. Yes, we just learn we just learned about this like two days ago. No, yesterday.
9:54Yesterday you called me. So, we weren't aware. No, I was waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden now I I think and and not to belabor the point, but we had the discussion about who would be responsible and I said that you had to get a permit from the water department.
10:08Whether you were waiting for them to determine whether or not they they would put it in for you, that I don't know.
10:14Yeah. But this is this is a water line basically to service this one singular home. And the water department does not extend new water lines. It would be up to the applicant just like in any other development uh to install whatever utility that they needed. Okay. Yeah.
10:29See, I didn't know that until yesterday.
10:31All right.
10:33So, you wish to withdraw the application at this time? Yes. Okay.
10:39We'll be back though. Okay, that's fine.
10:42All right. Thank Thank you for your time, Mr. Aguia. Thank you. Thank you.
10:45Have a good day. Okay. You too.
10:48Test, do you have the director's report?
10:52I do um I I don't have um too much of of an update other than I think last month I had indicated that um the department was fully staffed and that has has since changed. Um and so we um we will be posting um the position for youth services coordinator. So Christian McCclusk's last day was actually today.
11:21um and we will be posting that position.
11:23So, I'm currently working on a job description um for that role. But, um Christian had been a longtime employee and we are certainly appreciative of all of his years um of of service um and you know, we'll we'll be looking forward to um to filling that role um in the near term. What's he what's what what's he doing? I hadn't heard this. Yeah. So, he um he put in his resignation at the
11:54beginning um of of the month. Um and I, you know, um I don't know that he I think he's going to be he's going to be continuing his work um at St. Vincent's um and and looking for new opportunities. Okay. Yeah. So, it'll be a change, you know, for the department again and the community because Christian's been, you know, such such a key um component um yeah, in the community for for some time. But, um you
12:27know, I think he he's he made the made the decision to um to move on from from the role. Um, and you know, again, we're looking we're looking forward to filling filling that once I um once I'm able to finalize um the job description and and a few other details. So, I jinxed myself um last month by saying that. Um so, I won't ever say that again. Um but um but
12:58you know there's certainly a lot of work to be done within that youth services um kind of you know sector within the department. Um and there's a lot of work to to be done with those um two grants.
13:10So eager to eager again to fill that um fill that role. Um but the new employees that we do have mass emotion and some of our other PHE um new team members um you know are just really getting um getting involved in the work and are um out in the community engaging with with community partners um and getting their feet wet. So, that's all been um been positive. Um and you know um kind of
13:38looking ahead to the to the summer months um getting geared up for you know mosquito um season. Um we can you know we're likely anticipating another triple E um season based on mosquito activity last year. Um so getting ahead of of some of that um and really looking to promote, you know, that as in the near term. Um mosquito spraying will begin um with Bristol County's mosquito control
14:11um in early June. So we'll be pushing out announcements regarding um the spraying um likely next week.
14:21Okay. Has anything been re received for citizens input?
14:27No.
14:29Okay. Uh to confirm the date for the next meeting, it would be either June 20, Monday, June 23rd or Monday, June 30th. Anyone have any uh yeses or nos?
14:44I could do either one. Maybe we should check with the doctor first. Okay. If Tess, you'll contact Dr. Gaglani and uh see if those either of those are okay.
14:53Okay. June 23rd or 30th. I'll follow up with him after we log off.
14:59Okay. Is there any other business to come before the board of such a nature that it could not make the agenda?
15:06No. No business. Okay.
15:10Did we have a motion to adjurnn? Move to adjourn. Move to adjourn. I'll second.
15:15Can we have a roll call? Miss Corey.
15:18Yes, Michael Coughlin. Yes. Okay. Thank you all this for this afternoon. Have a pleasant rest of the day. Take care.
15:28Thank you.
