Council, here.

2:23

Councelor Hart here. Councelor Poso here. Council Tit here. Uh, Council Tit said he was running a little late. He had an appointment in Boston that was two hours late in starting. So, with traffic, I'm sure he'll get here when he can. Item number one, citizen input. No one has signed up. Item number two, uh, the minutes from the November 12th motion to approve.

2:47

Motion to approve. Is there a second?

2:48

Second.

2:49

All in favor?

2:50

I.

2:51

Item number three.

2:55

And Mrs. Macatha will come down.

3:01

Yeah, Dan, you want to come down too?

3:03

Mr. Aguia will join us as well.

3:09

Stephanie MacArthur, director of traffic and parking.

3:12

Dan Aguia, director of engineering and planning.

3:19

I think that further

3:30

Okay. Um, the traffic uh was referred on 11:25 stop sign insert on Breman Street Westley at the intersection of Lindsay Street. Uh section two, a one-way strikeout on Breitman Street Easterly from Lindsay to McDonald Street and parking prohibited at all times on Breman Street 150 ft east of Lindsay Street. I'm not sure where it is, but on Lindsay Street, if you go up towards Melo Shares,

4:09

Michael Shares, I've gotten calls from there. The street is wide and it's a two-way, but cars can fit on both sides even though it's a two-way.

4:21

And there's six family houses along that way. And there's one old business that is no longer in service, but it had a driveway, a curb cut, but they're out of business and they've been out of business for several years. They still can't park there because there is no curb, right?

4:38

So, it still shows as a driveway. But people there are very concerned. I suggested that they go to traffic, but they're concerned that there is no place to park if they have to park just on one side if it's a two-way, but it's always been a two-way with parking on both sides. So, so can you tell us why?

4:56

Well, Stephanie, can I probably add a little bit more, but through all of this process, we discovered that it was not always parking on both sides. It was actually no parking along that easterly side, right, from Brownell to Brightman.

5:10

They took the signs down during construction, but that doesn't correct. So, the signs are supposed to go back by ordinance because by ordinance it's no parking and it's been an ordinance prior to I went back to 2021. So, it's been an ordinance for quite some time that parking is prohibited on that side.

5:27

But when the signs went down through all this construction that they've done, it's been down for a couple of years.

5:32

Correct.

5:33

Has there been any accidents there? Any issues with that being two-way?

5:38

Not that we know, but the direction that you gave to them was was to go to traffic and then that that change can be contemplated and go through the process just like all of these are. It's nothing that can take place tonight because we haven't we don't have the information to do that.

5:52

Um, but if there are sections that could be, we'd have to go out and we'd look at the width, make sure that we have the appropriate width, uh, for two.

5:59

I didn't know. I thought maybe fire trucks or something like that that that was concerned. When is your next traffic meeting?

6:05

January.

6:09

Exact date is January 21st.

6:18

January 21st.

6:19

Correct. Four, five, 4 p.m.

6:21

Four. I thought it was four. Okay. So, just to share that with the public that is listening about that. Any questions on any of these from anyone?

6:36

Second.

6:37

Motion for an emergency preamble.

6:39

There's a second. Roll call, please.

6:43

Yes.

6:43

Councelor Hart.

6:44

Yes.

6:45

Council repos.

6:46

Yes.

6:46

Councelor Tiff. Chipper.

6:48

Yes. Motion to pass through all readings. Second.

6:51

Motion to pass through all readings.

6:52

Second. All in favor?

6:53

I.

6:55

Any other questions?

6:56

Um, not a question, but just a point of information for you. So, I know tonight's council meeting there were a couple of other ordinances for traffic that we're going through. And if you remember when the first discussion first came in, they had some what we'll call conditions or stipulations on Mass Dot's part to comply with.

7:12

They've already implemented them all.

7:14

Good.

7:14

So, they don't need to be contemplated in the discussion. um that had to do with making sure that traffic could enter um Lindsay from President Avenue from both directions. That was one of them. They were making the modification to the westerly direction at the intersection of Breman and Lindsay.

7:32

You'll see if you get up if you drive up to that corner now, you'll see where they removed the raised curb and now it's a concrete apron so that tractor trailer trucks can now make that turn. Um so they they've complied with what we've asked them to do and get rid of that no left turn sign which I know.

7:46

So, I was on them every day and then they removed it the morning of the last city council meeting because I was on them every day and I said, "If this comes up to council tonight and that sign is still up there, you're not getting your one way."

7:59

I get so many calls. I was ready to go with a screwdriver and take the sign down myself.

8:03

Yeah. No, the whole project down there looks fantastic, but this is dotting eyes and crossing tees again to make sure ordinances match what mascot designed. So, we appreciate your efforts to motion to adjurnn. A second. All in favor.

8:17

Thank you.
