0:09

Mr. D here.

0:10

M here.

0:12

0:14

0:52

I do.

0:52

Yeah. So, the first person to sign up is Dave Olivera, 210 Robersonson Street, related to RPA and late fees. Uh, Deb, can you please read it up?

1:03

Members of the school committee, well, this school district has become more of a joke every day under Superintendent Curley leadership, but yet we have school committee members praising her on the job she has done. All this experience she has. The vote to promote Miss Curley in the role was the worst vote this un uneducated school committee took. Thank God Kevin and Colin are the are on record in going against her

1:32

appointment. As much as I hate to admit it, but I don't put blame on Mayor Kugan for all the money this superintendent has lost, but will however expect him to do something about it. and I and ask Superintendent Curley, stop blaming members of the school committee for of your incompetence of allowing $80,000 in repairs for RPA and 13.8,000 in late fees for from National Grid. And I asked

2:00

this board, was she the right choice to leave this district? Bet yet, anyone else they would be fired? So, I plead to the superintendent, stop wasting taxpayers in the education of our students time and resign tonight. And final, has there been a followup on why some kids were being asked to stay home first period and return to second period because of not having a teacher for first period since my nephew goes to

2:29

Dery and is a senior.

2:33

Thank you.

2:35

The next one is Taylor Perry, 105 Abedine Street, regarding late fees.

2:41

I am writing to writing as tonight of the following your remarks during the September 8th school committee meeting regarding late national grid payments and associated fees. At that meeting, you stated that school committee member Mr. Colin Das was holding up bill schedules for weeks on end, suggesting that his questions about the district finances contributed to $13,839 in late fees. Because the public

3:14

deserves clear information about how taxpayer dollars are managed, I respectfully request clarification on the following points. One, factual basis. Please provide specific instances supporting the statement that Mr. Das delayed the bill schedule. Two, financial impact. How much of the late fee total can be directly attributed to any delay caused by a committee member's information request versus internal

3:43

processing issues within the administration. Three, policy and procedure. What safeguards are in place to ensure that normal oversight and financial questions from elected committee members do not result in late payments or penalties. These questions are not about personalities but about transparency and accountability for public funds. Residents have a right to understand whether these late fees were

4:11

the result of normal o normal oversight or systematic administrative challenges.

4:17

Thank you for providing a prompt and detailed explanation so that the community can have confidence in the district's financial stewardship.

4:30

Okay. Next up, item number three on the new business. Is there any new business?

4:34

Mr. Chair, one one question. Um I know today we had um a second um grievance subcommittee meeting cancelled and I understand like it's really not we would have to hear from both sides to make a decision. However, I still had questions just regarding the process. So, I was just I don't know if it's normal to have those meetings canled for that reason or I would say that based on the

5:01

individuals that are before us with the grievance if they requested it to be cancelled like if this young lady had who was here today had a an issue, we would just cancel it and we would reschedule it. So, any of those other questions would be something that you can ask at that time. The only thing I would say is on I think somebody mentioned something about first period.

5:18

If you just took notes, maybe send something to the committee.

5:20

Sure. I mean I since the last um meeting I did inquire um with people on my team and um folks at the school and we don't have any without know I mean there's no policy in place there's nothing happening right now at Turfy High School that would necessitate any students to come in late um or be asked to come in late so I'm just Yeah on that I Yes, I actually did speak um with the

5:53

individual on that on that point when he brought it up cuz he brought it up in a prior citizens input appar and again I I don't know this to be fact or not.

6:01

apparently be there's a first period class that is um and the individual didn't tell me what class it was or like or it was like a study hall period but I guess like a there's some if there's like a first period class they're being asked to come in later.

6:18

So the only thing I would say is that if anyone and anybody listening can say the same thing if you have an issue like that you say my child's in class ABC and this is who told me so we can actually get to the bottom of it because sometimes we're chasing our tails. One of the things that somebody told me relative to Jeffy, now it just joged my memory was that is there a study period?

6:38

Uh is there like a quotequote study hall period because I had heard something similar to that from a not from this individual but from another gentleman who uh mentioned that. So you might want to like inquire about the study hall. So if my if my class is study hall first period and first period ends at 9:00, am I able to just come in at 9:00 or do I actually

6:57

have to show up to be on time? That might be what some of the same thing but this was from an elderly gentleman that goes to Dunkin Donuts and he mentioned it to me a while back.

7:06

Okay.

7:06

Okay. So, we're gonna uh we have a need for an executive session.

7:10

Do you want to read the reason? Sure.

7:11
