4:56I Id update from our executive director.
5:02Thank you, Chairman Long. Good afternoon, everyone. A few things for this month. Um, under human resources.
5:11Um, we had a few retirements. So, um, we filled a couple of positions. Um, Elizabeth Burns, our uh, HR director, has uh, coordinated and posted positions and set up interviews. We filled uh, the facilities management work order clerk for the facilities department. We filled uh, assistant tenant selection coordinator in our tenant selection department.
5:41And uh we will be looking to fill um a few more within the next month um due to retirements and um people moving on in different positions. So that's what we have under human resources under facilities.
5:59Just to um echo what Mr. Gagnen had said, I want to acknowledge and thank uh Ed Majuski, our facilities director, him and his team. outstanding job and challenging with the past couple of snow storms. Um the heavy snow the first one and the real cold and wind this last one. Um so they've all of the facilities people have done a a great job um in a not so easy uh situation.
6:31So thank you Ed. Um, for any of you who are not aware, we do have a sort of a gentleman's agreement with the city whereas we allow them to um dump the snow from the city onto the property at Wuffa Heights and in turn um they give us the salt that we need for our sites. So if you were not aware that's uh kind of an agreement we have with the
7:02city. So, that's worked out well over the years.
7:06The last thing I have, um, I mentioned it briefly last month. Uh, I was hoping they were going to attend tonight, but, uh, we have a nice plaque and gift cards for three retirees.
7:20Um, Joyce Pereira was our work order clerk. She was here for 23 years. Walter Dominion was a maintenance mechanic here for 27 years. and Marie Souza was the coordinator of tenant selection.
7:36Uh she was here for 41 years. So I did want to acknowledge and thank them, the three of them for their service to the four river housing authority.
7:47And the last thing I just wanted to add, you may notice that the uh community hall uh has some uh construction equipment and some supplies and dusty.
8:00Ed and his team have also been going to the different sites and we're trying to upgrade the community rooms um with new LED lights um painting um and we're also they're on auto. We're going to be installing new ceiling fans.
8:17So, some of them are dated. They need a little refreshing. So, uh Ed and his team are trying to do that. Um, so, uh, I apologize for the dusty, uh, board meeting this month.
8:33So, that is all I have. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. If I could pump in, uh, pipe in since we were speaking of, uh, Mr. Majuski, by the way, uh, he had another birthday on Friday and 29 again, chairman. So, doesn't he look great?
8:48Just want to recognize Mr. Majuski, our director of facilities.
8:51[clears throat and cough] Thanks for uh everything at everything you do.
8:56On behalf of the board, I'd like to say thank you to the uh our facilities director and uh and our employees for their efforts with the snow removal. And I'd like to thank and wish our most recent retirees all the best in their future endeavors. We uh appreciate your efforts um all the time. So, thank you for that.
9:21Under new new business modernization, we're looking at one change order for the elevator modernization at George H.
9:29Catel Heights. So, change order number one is an increase in the amount of $7,659 to a contract for revised recessed call stations, including a credit of three $3,980 for the return of the recessed call stations. Um, in reviewing this, what happened is is they were trying to get the things inside the walls, and that would be a very expensive and costly uh endeavor. So, what we're going to is
9:59they're going to put them on the outside and run new conduit and wires on the outside into the uh receptacles. So, um, if we've looked at that, I would uh entertain a motion to approve change order number one for the elevator modernization at George H. Catel Heights.
10:19I'll make a motion uh to approve the change order number one for the elevator modernization at George H. Catel Heights.
